Wow you manage a lot of challenges ☺️ what's this level thing? Looks like you have a lot of fun, I'll take inspiration from that for my journey!
Thanks! I always try to keep my load light, but then I get restless and add a bunch of extra, and then get overwhelmed. It's a vicious cycle for me, but I enjoy the challenge and the push so it usually always works out. I swear I'm going to stick to my 3-challenges-max rule once I wrap the ones up that I'm working on, but I'll probably pile them back on again sooner or later :P

As for the leveling, I pretty much took the leveling system from Vanilla World of Warcraft and applied to my Darebee workouts. The max level is 60, and each level takes more and more XP to reach. I also use the different types of workouts as reputations that I can level up, like Strength, Yoga, Metcon, etc. When the reputations level up, I sometimes have to do an extra quest. Right now in order to level up my strength faction to Honored I need to do 5 full bodyweight pushups in a row. Here's a link to xp/level breakdowns and here's where I currently stand with reputations. I used to do a full rep/xp udate with each post but I haven't had as much time to spend on my logs lately, so I try for at least every week (which I'm currently behind on).

It is a lot of fun and keeps me motivated to workout and lets me know what types of workouts I neglect. I'll probably try to fit in a HIIT program soon because this system has let me know that I pretty much never do HIIT workouts. I've been playing World of Warcraft for 20 years so it's been a great way for me to stay motivated, and to spend more time working out than I do playing. It's like I'm honoring my time spent playing the game and all the memories I've made while leveling up my IRL 'character'.

Trying to find ways to gamify my fitness was what led me to Darebee in the first place, so it's been fun trying to figure out how I can further gamify things. I still tweak the system and am trying to find more things to add without overwhelming myself.

I was motivated to start this system by what I saw the other Bees doing in their threads. This is a really wonderful place with a lot of creative people. Thanks for stopping by :D

Streak Day 122 is another Hive Defense day. I did way too many kicks yesterday, but I'm not complaining. It was the most fun I've had working out in a while, and I've been having A LOT of fun lately, so that's really saying something. I'll pick back up my regularly scheduled programming once the Hive is defended.

I have a job interview for that position I've been talking about FINALLY. It's tomorrow, and I'm totally freaking out now. Today was almost going to be a free day but now I'm just working on my interview prep and familiarizing myself with the systems/technologies I need to know for the job. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm so nervous. I am NOT a good interviewer but I'm a very good worker. It's frustrating :P

Good luck with the interview! If you have an interviewer who seems nice/relatable you could mention the nerves? As long as you make sure they know that you're confident in your ability to excel at the job I'm sure nervousness is understandable :)

You'll do great! I've been at my current job for the better part of the decade so I'm probably a bit rusty with interviewing but I always found imagining it as if I've made the cut and the interview is just a formality helped with my nerves. Professional but casual!

Streak Day 123

Long day with lots of anxiety surrounding the whole interview thing. I'll hopefully get a full update out tomorrow. I have a lot of XP to add up... especially because I just finished Baseline and the Daily Push Up Challenge!!

:completed: :completed:

I really liked Baseline!!! I highly recommend. It was great as a warmup, and could be a really good first program for people who are just starting out or are just getting back to exercise after a long break.

I also really liked Daily Push Up. The majority of my push ups were wall pushups. I'll likely repeat this challenge sometime soon, or another pushup one, until I get my Strength Faction Quest done. I could have done knee push ups more, but I recently read that doing wall pushups can be good for building up tendon strength and can help make your form better and can reduce the risk for injury when doing knee/full pushups. When I first started doing pushups 123 days ago I went right to knee pushups and so now I'm backtracking a little to help build up a really solid foundation. And so, I'm spamming wall pushups like crazy. I still do a few knee push ups and some negative push ups too. I also usually do at least one full push up a day. I swear I carry most of my weight in the upper half of my body so I think that's why pushups have been a bit of a struggle for me. I'm hoping the addition of spamming wall pushups helps me along my journey.

I should be wrapping up some more programs and challenges by Friday. Then I'll be building a much more balanced and manageable plan and I'm going to stick to it for as long as possible without adding a bunch more stuff. I think on days that I'm restless I'm going to do extra workouts from the workouts for runners collection, or random workouts from the workout catalog. We'll see how long I stick to it. I'm sure I'll have a way-too-long list of challenges going again eventually.

Touch the bar has been going well but I haven't been very good about keeping track of reps and stuff. Hopefully I get some more time/energy to get my workout life and log put back together, soon. I'm mostly just excited that I didn't lose my streak/fall off the wagon. In the past, weeks like this would have been really discouraging and I would lose the willpower to workout. Now, I feel more resilient and just do what I can, when I can. If it happens to be a light day, then so be it. The next day may be better. And if it's not, then there's always the day after that. And so on and so forth.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween! I can't believe it's here already. I had some plans for costumes earlier in the year but it looks like I won't be able to get them done/made.

Oh, and something else exciting!!! I recently saw the Chainsaw Man movie in 3D and it was INCREDIBLE. We loved it so much we're going to drive into Atlanta on Thursday to see it in 4D! It'll be 3D but then the seats will also move around and other silly things like that. It should be a hoot. I'm going to miss the big comfy recliner chairs but it should be fun to have that next level of immersion.

It'll be nice to go into the city and have some fun which will hopefully take my mind off the whole job thing. I won't hear back about whether or not I'm making it to the next round of interviews until Friday at the earliest so I am going to be a ball of anxieyt until then.

:fireworks: Congrats for baseline and push up challenge!

I recently finished daily push up challenge from bathing tube. After the challenge I could do maybe 3-4 more in the first set and 2 more in 2. and 3. I thought I would improve more. Actually I should go on with that on my strength days. Maybe you try to do push ups from a table?

Streak Day 124

Thank you everyone who sent me congratulations and well wishes!!!

Kind of a light day today. Also, I'm going to start to track how many of the challenges/programs I've completed. I really want to do the same for the workouts catalog but I know that gets refreshed all the time and there's almost 3k workouts so... that'll be a little bit tricky to compile. I'll save that for a future date. An XP/Rep update will follow shortly.

Edit: okay I couldn't contain myself I tried to figure out my workout completion rate from the catalog. I only counted the ones I linked in my log, but I likely did others. Oh well. Also, keeping up with this will be a little tricky since there are so many added/removed on a weekly basis but I'll do my best. I'll have a general idea, at least, which is what I'm really going for.

❗Cardio: Someone sprints past me. I try to catch up, but they're too fast. They turn around and throw a scroll at me and then start running again. It's not long before they're out of sight. I open the scroll and inside it says that I've caught the attention of their faction, and they're thinking of honoring me. If I can prove myself by running a 5k with no walking breaks then I'll become honored. Speed doesn't matter here, just endurance. [Incomplete]

Belated congratulations on finishing Baseline and the Daily Push-Ups Challenge!
I think on days that I'm restless I'm going to do extra workouts from the workouts for runners collection, or random workouts from the workout catalog.
This sounds like a good way to go about things. Like you said, there are so many one-off workouts here (almost 3000!?!) - you could do one a day for years and still not get through them all! Meanwhile you can be consistent with the challenges you do have.

Also I am loving the achievement tracking tables!! If the workouts didn't have the reputation of changing/disappearing/new ones being added (that's based on what I've read on the forums since coming to Darebee) I would do something similar. I just don't like the idea of always having to go and count all the categories again in case there's been a change. But yeah - big fan of those tables and the effort that went into it!

Hello my Lizzie, i started a list in an excel file, with challenges and programs, not completely updated the last few weeks, but it could help, if you want me to share with you

Thank you!

From what I understand there are four workouts added a week and the 'obsolete' ones are regularly purged/updated but not on any set schedule. I figure if I do a quick audit of the total numbers every few weeks I should be able to stay accurate enough. I'm just telling myself that there's no way I'll ever get it perfect since it is truly a massive, massive, catalog. On the plus side, like you said, I'll never run out of workouts to do.

Thanks, I have one too for challenges and programs. The workouts are another story. I think I'll make a file for the workouts I've completed but I don't think I'll try to add all the others. That might take too long. I'm already missing our card game since that was the main way I found new workouts to do. I hope Gurg is back soon

Streak Day 125
Chainsaw Man in 4D was really fun. The seats moved a lot more dramatically than I expected. I swear I was almost thrown out of my seat a few times. The only part I didn't like were these puffs of air that shot out from the head rests. They were really loud and if my head was turned at all it like shot directly into my ear. Ouch. Other than that, it was a really fun experience.

Atlanta was also fun. Work tomorrow morning so we weren't able to really stay as long as we wanted to but walking around the little bit that we did was amazing. The city lights, sounds, smells, and everything was amazing. I grew up on a small farm town, briefly moved to a mid-sized city for a few years, then made my way back to a small farm town. It always feels so magical being in the city because of that. I think one of these weekends we're going to go back to Atlanta and really do some exploring. We have done the aquarium and the zoo before but I want to just walk around town the next time we go.

Workout wise it was pretty light again. I'm figuring out right now what type of program I want to do next. I kind of want to do a more challenging one, like Shadebound. I think maybe pairing that one with 30 Days of LIIT and maybe an ab addon would be fun. We'll see.

That's all for now. It's time for bed. Have a great night/day/morning/whatever it is, Bees!

Streak Day 126

Another light day. Went to the gym with my partner but I wasn't in the mood to do a weight routine so instead I did some running and stationary bike-ing. Kept the effort pretty low, I ran about 1/4 of the time and walked the rest. With the bike I kept pretty low resistance and didn't go too fast. Just some nice and easy cardio to keep things moving and grooving.

Job Update: I heard through unofficial sources that I made it to the second round of interviews. From what I heard it's now just between me and one other person. Hopefully I get a call early next week to set up that interview. It's apparently going to have a panel of interviewers instead of just one. It may be up to four people interviewing me. Big Yikes.

Hoping to start kicking it back up a few notches here in the next few days. Downstairs neighbor was out for a while today so I experimented doing some high knees/etc to see how much the room I'm in can handle the more high intensity stuff... Stuff fell over on shelves and I swear my monitors on my computer about fell over. There's a room that's just above a garage that I could potentially work out in, so maybe I'll try that out. There's not as much shelving/stuff that could be knocked over. It's not as much space and is pretty cramped but... maybe I could make it work for a few exercises. I want to do more high intensity stuff at home, so I'll try to make something work.

Happy Halloween everyone! and goodluck to all the Bees doing a writing challenge next month.

Streak Day 130

Days between now and my last post have been really light. My right knee has been a little funky so I've been doing banded single-leg extensions. 45 secs extended, 15 sec rest, for 10 sets. I need to build up knee strength and stability before I start kicking up my running again. Which means strength training needs to be a priority. Life has also been hectic and busy so not as much time to log or keep up with NaNo. I'm sitting at slightly under 2k words and I need some time for catch-up.

I've also been keeping up with my One Pushup A Day. I keep waiting for the pushup to get easier, but it's not happening. I'm doing some wall pushups, knee pushups, and negative pushups, but that single pushup is still not getting easier. I had a dream last night that I cranked out 12 pushups like it was nothing. Someday I hope that dream is a reality.

I felt a need for a fresh start today so I started a new program, as well. I'm not ditching my old lineup just yet. I just need things to feel not so crazy for a minute.

So, I started..... Cardio Go! I want to continue to work on my cardio for when my knee is ready for running, and low intensity will help. It got me seriously sweaty and had my heart rate going. Who knew step jacks and march steps could be so brutal?

In Summary:
[Days 127-130]: Knee Rehab (banded single leg extensions), Pushup Variations including one Full Pushup

[Day 130]:
Knee Rehab, Pushup Stuff

Cardio Go! Day 1 / 30
edit to add:
Zero Hero Day 26 / 30 [Level 1]

Moving forwad I'm going to focus on knee rehab, cardio, and lower-body strength. Hopefully tomorrow I do my whole routine.

ALSO I have that second interview on Thursday!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Good luck with your knee rehab, it sounds like you've got a good handle on what you need to do to get it back to normal.

And good luck with the second interview! I'm sure you've got the job, they're just doing a second round as a formality :) if you need any extra ideas for questions to ask them in return (especially if they flip the interview around at the end) here's a couple of good ones: "are there any questions I didn't fully answer that you want to revisit?" allows you to address anything the interviewers are iffy about, and "three months from now, what would make you consider me successful in this role?" tells you what exactly they're looking for and shows you want to do the job well.

Belated congrats on the new shiny badges! :fireworks:

And best of luck with the second interview!

And nice to hear about your trip to Atlanta. I find it a pretty city. I don't typically stop there but I've driven through quite a bit and I always love looking out the window at it.

I've also been keeping up with my One Pushup A Day. I keep waiting for the pushup to get easier, but it's not happening. You will succeed Little lizard, I believe in you. Crossing fingers for your interview and :vibes: for your knees, take care

Thank you thank you thank you @Syrius @Mamatigerj @graoumia @NightWolf714 @agc :heartsit:

Quick update - busy day! Well, it shouldn't have been busy but I needed some extra nap time which made getting what I needed to get done a little challenging. However without the naps I don't think anything would have gotten done at all, so even though it put me in a time crunch it was necessary.

Streak Day 131

Knee Rehab, Pushup Stuff

Cardio Go! Day 2 / 30
Zero Hero Day 27 / 30 [Level 1]

Wow, I really like the Cardio Go! program but man does it take a lot of time. I think it took me almost 50 minutes today. Again, it kicked my butt and I was sweating like crazy by the end. It really is a great running alternative, and the low impact is keeping my knee from complaining. I'm going to add in some one-legged sit-to-stands to my knee routine, and maybe a few of the knee workouts here on Darebee. My knee is already feeling better but I probably won't run for at least a few more days. I may do some easy intervals on the treadmill if we end up going to the gym, but nothing outside or high effort.

I hope everyone has been having a good week!

Streak Day 132

Today was just knee rehab and a short incline walk on the treadmill.

Today was also my second interview with the company I really want to work for!! It went extremely well, in my opinion. They have one other person who made it to this round who has still yet to interview, and then I'll have my answer... they are kind of notorious for taking their time at this stage... but here's to hoping I know soon. The wait has been excruciating but so long as I get the job it will have been worth it. I've heard of it taking more than three weeks to hear back after the second interview.... here's to hoping that's not how it goes for me. In the meantime, I'm still applying for other jobs just in case. Either way, my current gig is no longer serving me so I need to find something ASAP.

Is it bad that I hope the long waits discourages the other person I'm up against and they end up accepting a job elsewhere so that I'm selected by default??

Anyway

Stressful day. Now for sleep and the start to my anxious wait.

Streak Day 133
After doing my one full pushup I decided to see how long it would take for me to be able to do another one. Around two hours later I was able to crank out another. I may try for another before bed.

The Monthly Debuff is now blessing me once again. This one feels like it's going to be a rough ride. This is another reason I'm really hoping that job works out. I'll actually be able to start getting some regular health care again and can hopefully find a way to make this time of the month less debilitating and painful. Grumble grumble. On we go. :flat:

GOT A CONDITIONAL JOB OFFER!!! as long as my background check and drug tests come back A-OK then the job is mine!!!!! Background check could take up to two weeks to come back, but I've never even gotten as much as a speeding ticket or parking ticket so I'm not expecting anything bad to pop up there :D

I go in on Wednesday this week to start doing tax paperwork and get things rolling and I'll get my official start date as soon as everything else comes back A-OK :D

holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not going to feel real until I get my start date and all paperwork is done, but I've officially accepted the offer. Now it's just a little more waiting. I can't believe they got back to me so quick!!!! That like never happens there usually. AHHHHHHHH
