if you don't eat wheat maybe you cook with other cereals? And bring a cake to work ? You will have plenty of cake here just for you for your birthday, you are important for all of us![]()
I haven't tried baking a gluten-free cake yet. Funny thing is that I do have to take the day before my birthday off work, so I totally could try. I think I might!
Thank you graoumia!!! I was having a hard time framing it better and now I have a mission!

No, I really did forget. Thing is, I think that the store bought icing I used might have upset my system, so I am actually wary of the cupcakes, despite how delicious they are. M's not in any way upset that the cupcakes are still in the house and I'll be taking one down to my sister when I see her this weekend at my nephew's birthday party. I will be trying my hand at making icing when I make the next batch next week, which are the ones that will be going to work with me for my birthday!

- for combo 2, I plank walked back, held for 6, plank walked out and held for 6 - because both this and combo 3 cause tension in my lower back, no matter how slow I go (which I did for the entirety of the program) and how much I tighten my core and glute on the combo 3 transition

Momentum 30 lvl 1- for combo 2, I plank walked back, held for 6, plank walked out and held for 6 - because both this and combo 3 cause tension in my lower back, no matter how slow I go (which I did for the entirety of the program) and how much I tighten my core and glute on the combo 3 transition

Huh, I did not know over engaging my glutes could also be a problem, but I didn't feel any rotation in my hips. I was transitioning smoothly all the way into upward dog for the first set and half of the second and it was just feeling sticky when transitioning back out of it. After that, I only went to the kneeling pushup plank position and I didn't complete the rotation.Could be you are tightening your glutes too much. Engaged abs are good for supporting your lower back, but too much glute engagement can cause external hip rotation, which for some people causes unhappy compression in the lower back. (I personally don't feel this in my body. But multiple yoga teachers have sworn to me it's a thing. I suggest experimenting and seeing what works best for you.)
Many people have a tendency to try to get all of the bend in a backbend from the lower back. (That's the path of least resistance.) But this too can cause compression and unhappiness there. Try for a smooth curve, lifting your chest, and drawing your shoulder blades together and down. Engage your hamstrings but also your quadriceps. (It may be counterintuitive to engage the quads in a pose like up dog, where the hips are in extension. But you want some engagement there to prevent the pelvis from sagging.)

I feel like my plank work is pretty good. I certainly don't struggle with it as much any more. I can fully place my hands on the mat when touching my toes, so I do have contact with the ground on the entire movement. Going into the plank doesn't feel too bad, but it's when I am walking back that I feel the strain. Maybe I need to do some experimenting here as well? Maybe I'm bending my back weird or something.I'm not sure what's happening with your plank walk-outs. You have good endurance in a front plank, if I recall correctly. At what point in that 2nd combo are you feeling the tension?

I took the day off since I had originally requested it off when I thought I was going to have multiple appointments today, but I only had the one. I am glad that I was able to get in my allergy shots early this week as well, but doc now wants me to take an antihistamine before I come to get shots. So, I'll be trying out Allegra next time, because I don't want to take brain-fog Zyrtec again if I don't have to.
