Step by step

@Jaga I'm so happy I took this challenge from our checkin thread as inspiration. I love it sooo much. My feet were sore nearly the whole winter. And I hesitated at the beginning - I could get worse. But no, it improved and I am really happy. I love your idea.:beating::tuzki-love:AND - I don't want to stop skipping. I bought different jump ropes (cheaper ones). From time to time I change from heavy to middle to a hemp jump rope.

:x:action: 3.4k steps. Rainy day. I felt paralyzed, like I have plumb in my bones.
:v: workouts: skipping 300 skips. Soma 5 - strength. I had to convince myself to do something. After finishing I feel better.
:v: meditation 2 min

Head ache. One appointment after another. Shortly before vacation start at the end of the next week. On sunday is a sort of competition in walking 7.5 km. I hope the rain will stop.

I just want to skip instead of HIIT workouts. or maybe search other HIIT workouts.

We have a problem with our car. After cleaning the air conditioning it stopped working.
33 degrees in eastern France yesterday were hot like hell in our car. But we had a nice campground at Doubs river and a warm afternoon.
We decided not to go to the south as planned but to Bretagne. No idea about sight seeing there. No plan. Just continue west. Today Loire.
And a bike tour.
I have a resistance band with me but workouts at campground- not really.
Maybe I find an other solution.

Back again
We had an activ holiday full of cyclung and hiking. We visited Bretagne, Normandy, Monets garden near Paris and some rivers and lakes on our way home.
It‘s hot. Temperature will arise to 36 degrees this week. Too hot for moving.
:v: jump rope 1+2. Saved my hikes -no pain. 10+11 soma
:v: swimming, cycling 12 km, 5K steps.

yesterday
:v: workouts: jumprope 4x 1:20, soma 13 and challenge of the month 1 (Upperbody and core) - push ups. 14:9:7 - my weekly class: we did stretching and mobility
:v: activity: 13,6K steps yesterday

today
:v: workouts: yoga (soma14) and upperbody challenge 2 - no skipping
:v: activity: 15km cycling in avg speed 20km/h and a little walk

Very hot day today. I hardly slept. Relex day planned. My weekly grocery shopping is timed for wednesday. Not sure, if I go.

@Set Monje: Yes, the lunges. I struggle with them too.

:v: workouts: soma 20, self made tabata workout , jump rope, my fitness class yesterday had a lot of strength excercises. For today stretching is planned. So happy about it. Doms everywhere and stretching is fine.
:v: activity: - due to raining on Monday I did HIIT Training, but yesterday cycling. Hopefully the whole day raining days are over, and I can go outdoor.

Today is the day where I finally can pass the 2 lefted disciplines for "Sportabzeichen" - sort of a check, if one has enough endurance, strength, coordination and speed. I already passed endurance and speed. Now strength and coordination (rope skipping) and strenght (standing long jump) are the possibilities I selected. Last year my husband was always with me. This year he was already there in May and I have to go on my own. His rope skipping skills are not polished yet, he would try another day.

Good luck! :cheer:

:v: workouts soma 22, rope skipping
:v: activity: 12,8K steps, 5km cycling

I passed the last two categories for my fitness test. Rope skipping in jogging step - I needed 80 and made 100. Long jump needed 1,60 and had 1,62.
I did crunches (50/41).
Suppose I will try out some other disciplines when I accompany my hubby for his last disciplines.
Maybe I should start running to pass 3 km running discipline at the end of september. I did it last year. I am not a runner, but my endurance is all right. But I love cycling. I will try.

:v: workouts
- soma 27 - a HIIT day (l5)
- first thing plank
- easy abs
- workout in a class, which I take weekly.
:v: activity
- jogging 3km
- cycling 20km.

Today:
:v: workouts
- soma 28 (yoga day)
- first thing plank (5)
- easy abs (5)

:v: activity: 20 km yesterday. I cycled to the next city and visited a friend. I dared not to lock my helmet while at frieds house. And at the end it was stolen. I was sad and angry. And I felt tired - so I need a rest day. Maybe a little walk, if the rain will stop for half an hour.

:v: workout:
- first thing plank challenge (6)
- easy abs challenge (6)
- stomach vacuums (2)
- soma (29). I'm thinking about how to increase weights. This time I had 4,5 kg. 5kg dumbells would hardly change anything. We have some where you can add disks. I hope we have 0,75 kg disks. I have modular wrist weights.

:v: activity: for the rest day yesterday i went for a walk. 7k steps.

Is it too much if I go jogging in the afternoon. Nothing big. I have to wait for my son on thursdays and have 30 mins and a wonderfull wood. Several times I was walking but 2 times I went for jogging. Last time it was maybe too fast and the next day my knees were aching. It has a height difference of 50 m. 3 km in total.

As for the helmet: not sure if I want to get the same - it was less then 1 year since I bought it. It was comfortable, but maybe I would prefere another kind of closing. It had a hook (Casco). The one before had one button and in winter one could better adjust the size for wearing a hat under the helmet.

:v: workout:
- first thing plan challenge (7)
- easy abs challenge (7)
- soma (30) :completed:
- stomach vacuums (3).

?? It's really hard to stop breathing for 15 sec. What does shallow breaths mean: Just a bit of breathing in breast zone?

I would continue soma or other dumbbell programm but next week. No dumbbells while away.

:v: activity:
- 4 km jogging - I could jog without stopping. My knees are ok today. I tried to stay at around 125-130 with my heartrate. But there where some elevations.

Thank you @Fremen, @graoumia, @Maegaranthelas, @Mamatigerj and @Ekaterina for your congrats. It's a pleassure.

Now it was silent here some days. BUT, I didn't stop.

On saturday we had a big event, my father had a party for his 70. birthday. I managed to do 3 sets of squats and I did 6k steps while serving our guests.
On sunday still there: a little bike tour to the village where I lived as a youth. Challanging (elevations) but short - 10 km, 6k steps, plank and easy abs challenges day 8

On Monday:
- plank challenge and easy abs day 9
- Iron heart day 1, dumbbell weight increased from 4,5 with soma to 5,5kg. The days were shorter, maybe I can soon increase again.
- jogging 4 km

Tuesday 22.07 (today)
- plank and easy abs day 10
- Iron heart day 2 (lower body day)
- Since it was not enough I added workout [WORKOUT]Sculpted glutes[/WORKOUT]
- And: rope skipping again 5x 1 min jumping +30 sec break : just freestyle.

It's raining today - let's see, if I can go outside. I would love to cycle a bit.

I stopped the stomach vacuums challenge officially, because I can't hold breath for more than 15 sec. I do every day, as much as I can, three sets. Shallow breathing isn't working in that position. Sometime I do something like a yoga stomache vacuums.

Somes bees did it in a another position, maybe it could help?

@Mamatigerj I am so happy about your hint. It's much better then I do now try "something"

@graoumia : Other position helps also. So I'm not allone :-)
:tu:
Wednesday:
- easy abs 11 and plank 11. Today i read the plan challenge carefully - and I did it wrong all the time. Plan is to do a plank of maximal possible time. I did 30 sec. (ups)
- Ironheart 3

- cycling 15 km

today:
- easy abs 12, plank 12
- Perfect start
- ironheart 5 (accidentally skipped 4)

- cycling 17 km , 6K steps.

For tracking my activity I use coros pace 3 watch. Every week training load is getting higher. Only jogging/power walking and cycling has a higher impact on the stats. Not strength. But I try also to improve my strength.

Mostly I do nowdays jogging/walking/cycling daily to meet the goals. Cycling yesterday was at avarage speed of 19km/h (I started with 14/15 in April) and quite hard at the end (not the breathing, but the muscles). My heart frequence was not that high on avarage on 119. My body is getting used and maybe it was a little bit cool outside.

Today I got a vaccination and only walking is planned for the afternoon. I read some reddit posts on that and now I'm thinking over just let the watch be the watch and follow a plan of max. 4 endurance trainings a week.
As for strength - ironheart workouts are quite short. Soma was a bit longer per day. Maybe only walking 3 times a week. I'm working from home and the whole winter hardly leaved home on daily basis. Not sure what to do. Don't want to achieve a training burnout.

BUT: My feet are better, my knees are better. I can use higher weights. I still have fun while cycling or jogging.

Sorry, I was a little bit away and didn't log before the weekend started
Thu -Fr -Sat -Sun - Mon -Tue (31.07 - 05.08.)
- plank challenge 18 - 19 - 20 - x - x - 21
- easy abs 19 - 20 - 21 - x - 22 - 23
- ironheart 11- 12 - 13 - x - x - 14,15, 16

jogging 5 km - walk 10K - bike 24km, walk 12K - walk 12K, bike 24km - 15k Walk, 8km bike

My coros watch is not impressed of my walking/cycling. I emphasize strenght, the watch only cardio.

That jogging was a fitness test. Now I was impressed, what I can.

I read a book about how to get fit and the author is of the opinion first loose weight (if you need to) then do strength training. Possibly one has to do some cardio to start. I event lost 1-2 kg. Not bad after all of my tries.
I feel fitter, my body get used to my cardio - now I have to bike fast (around 20 km/h) to get my heartrate up. Can't wait to finish aktual program to choose another one.

My daughter is going to Australia in September - VERY far away for me. I'm sad and happy for her to have the experience.

Sat -Sun
Easy abs 27 - 28
Plank 26- 27,28
Ironheart 18 - 19

Swimming 50min walking 4km - cycling 80 min in very slow speed. At the moment I'm just slow. I suppose overtraining. Even 14 km/h feels so difficult and hard. I will reduce even more only walking and finishing the challenges and the program.
