@Laura Rainbow Dragon Thanks! I actually did roll a die in my current WIP once because I couldn't figure out which one of two characters would take the initiative against a situation I put them in. Feels good to be back
D&D/PF day. I'm adding Pathfinder because my group is very hyped about it. I'm surprised because I thought the character creation would put them off, but they were all into having more specialized characters rather than the Jack of All Trades way 5e has. We still remember how we, as a LVL 5 or 6 party, managed to beat up a Devil that was way above our CR in one of those, Devil that I put in the first place to be a recurring character. PF2e seems to be easier to GM, so I'm looking forward to build up the mini campaign. I thought about switching the current campaign into the new system, but I don't want to do that yet, or at least, not until I understand PF2e better. Multiclassing seems to be complicated, and there's a Monk/Warlock with a Ghost in the Machine Patron, plus several spells that appear in an Unearthed Arcana article. I won't be converting that.
At least they are all up to speed about the current drama in the community, and how it affects us too. After all, we use a third-party app in our phones to track our characters and access the 5e compendium, alongside websites like Donjon, since none of us can afford a subscription on DnDBegone. The changes on the "Open" Game License might kill thise resources. Of course, we could replace the app with traditional pen and paper, but I like to have the app on the table because it solves the problem of being distracted by the phone by using it rather than forbidding it.
The group also seems to be interested in Vampire: The Masquerade, mostly because the Storyteller system is the easiest to play. But, like I said, our issue is the combat implemented in the system. Combat is what we excel at, and ST probably has the most annoyingly convoluted and confusing combat system I've ever seen.
But yeah, we went from dungoneer adventures to pathfinders now.
Now, I didn't write last night, even though there was a plan. In fact, I cancelled everything for the night, as I got very busy. The water finally came, so I was moving stuff, carrying things around, cleaning more stuff, all the way until it was 2 AM, which is when I went to bed. I managed to squeeze a few things, but by the time we were done, all I wanted was to sleep.
