Thanks everyone for the congrats and birthday wishes!

I had the ablation on my back on Thursday and have been taking it easy for a couple of days. There's a bit of residual soreness and muscle spasms but overall I think it worked!! :welcome: My birthday was nice, despite changing dinner plans at the last minute due to a sick daughter, so I'm going out tonight. Honestly, it was okay, as I was feeling wiped out from the long workweek + procedure. I felt good enough today to jump back in for SOMA 40+ round 2!

I'm coming down from :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee: after making a 3am airport run to drop off a family member. Feeling amped but tired at the same time! :pmode:
Plus I'm fighting a bit of a cold so my body is really weirded out. I started my workout, then got interrupted by the washing machine repair person, so I did what I could.

Back again! I ended up really sick and think it might have been a Covid variant since a co-worker tested positive. Everyone in my world has been sick, ugh. Feeling at about 80% and it felt good to be able to workout again.

4 Nov workout:
:star: PT workout - 15 min
:star: SOMA 40+ day 3

Having vegan creole black-eyed peas for dinner.

Thanks for the healing vibes @MadamMeow @Laura Rainbow Dragon @Syrius @Anek
Plugging along despite this lingering virus. Feeling a bit discouraged and down in general. Once I'm feeling better my mood should improve. In the meantime, I am only doing things which are good for me: eating well, exercising, leaving work on time, etc.

It is such a beautiful autumn here! There's already a bit of snow on the highest peaks. If only the leaves would rake themselves.....

Life has been a big roller coaster lately. The past few days I have been dealing with a family crisis that has been very intense and has brought up lots of dark memories. I'm exhausted. :phew: On top of that, Pixie had some blood in her stools and internal bleeding. That was an emergency vet visit. After x-rays and some kitty meds, she seems perfectly fine. No bleeding, she's eating and playing normally. I am so blessed to have a very supportive and understanding boss who insisted on me taking another day off to rest. Yes, I feel like I've been through the wringer this week. But there's always hope! I keep pressing on, trusting in the One who knows why all of this is happening.

You know why I keep coming back to the Hive? Because you Bees are so supportive. :thanks:

My schedule has been all over the place these last few days. I spent all of Saturday raking leaves. It felt good; I was able to work all day without significant back pain for the first time in over a year! #winning!! Sunday I had some social things (some involved football!!) and was feeling really tired so I just took it easy. Today I had a hot stone massage..ahhhhhh. It was raining when I got up this morning and you can't tell that I spent all day Saturday raking. *sigh* I'm just admiring how pretty the leaves are and trying no the think about how much raking there is still to come.

Tried something different today with the workouts:

The curry was delicious but because the coconut milk exploded all over the place (don't ask!) I made twice as much sauce as I needed and now have lots of leftovers. It tasted great but needs more potato and maybe chickpeas? to bulk it up.

Today I did my favorite thing: puttering. Made some pumpkin muffins (lots of leftover pumpkin, see above), did some chores, got caught up on paperwork, trimmed Pixie's claws, etc. Puttering gives my brain a break. :ss:

Yesterday was loooooonnnng. No time to workout. At rehearsal the cast were in costume and the shoes I'm wearing really hurt - ouch! But overall it was fun and everything's coming together. Today was a bit all over the place. Lots of interruptions and unplanned tasks. Plus, we're expecting a huge winter storm tomorrow night so I'm prepping things in the event there's a snow day / power outage. Whizzing down the highway on my way to work this morning I hit a patch of black ice and my car did a little sideways slide  Who needs coffee to wake up?!

18 Nov workout:

Off again to rehearsal! :blackout:

:shiver: Please be careful!

And get something done about those performance shoes! (Or mama bear stage manager over here is going to have to have a talk with your wardrobe person! You should not need to injure yourself for your art!)

Aw, thanks. I am going to check the local thrift shop to see if I can find some other shoes. Our little community theatre wardrobe doesn't have a ton of options. And I was very careful driving to work today. I wasn't the only one that hit the ice yesterday; at least 5 other co-workers and the guy at the post office all hit the same spot. Time for the highway crews to lay some cinders down.

Well today was a total train wreck. Work was crazier than usual but I got through it. It's supposed to snow a lot tonight and I can't get my generator or snow blower going....hoping that I won't need either in the next few days. On the positive side, a co-worker brought me a yummy coconut milk latte and I made some plans for an un-traditional Thanksgiving.

19 Nov workout:
:star: PT exercises - 15 min
:star: SOMA 40+ day 11
:star: Stomach Vacuums Challenge - day 30 :completed: Honestly, I didn't really like this one, even though I could feel the benefit. It's hard for me to stay still that long and just focus on one part of my body (I am Lady Celerity for a reason!). I think it's a good challenge, just not for me.

Finally, a night at home. Eggroll in a bowl for dinner, maybe? And waiting for snow to fall. Enjoy your evening.

@Laura Rainbow Dragon @Mamatigerj @Fremen @Maegaranthelas @TopNotch @FlowersandPetals @Anek :thanku:

Today was very exciting. I woke up to pouring rain. As I drove to work it looked like this:
snowdaydc1.jpg

I made it to work and then the power went out and the phones too. Our old plug-in phones came in handy. There were road closures all over the place and another school's bus jack-knifed on the highway. Then the power went back on. Since our bus was able to make some of the stops it was decided to have school for those who were comfortable coming and about 50% of the students made it and almost all the staff. We also managed to have our monthly staff potluck--baked potatoes and chili were great on a snowy day! Meanwhile, at my house 8 miles away, not a snowflake in sight, just torrential rain. So weird! Usually it's the other way around. Some local places have received well over a foot of snow.

When I got home I started my workout but had to stop for awhile to clear some clogged drains outside, then put my soggy jeans in the dryer and completed my workout. Whew! And I have rehearsal tonight.

20 Nov workout:
:star: PT exercises - 15 min
:star: SOMA 40+ day 12
:star: Anywhere Abs Workout

I hope things calm down, I'm exhausted! Have a nice evening bees. :hheart:

Yikes! I hope everyone was okay on that bus!

Here it takes a lot to actually close the schools. But they will cancel school buses if the roads are even a little bit sketchy. (Driving conditions like in the photo you posted would definitely trigger bus cancellations.) When I was in high school I think we had one school closure in five years. But there were ~ 10 "bus days" a year. Since ~ 3/4 of the student body were bussed in to my school, a day with no busses meant no actual teaching happened. Teachers were expected to be there. But students--if they showed up to school at all--could pretty much go to class or not as they felt like it. (I always went in--being at school was far better than being at home--but then would spend the day in the cafeteria, playing cards with my friends. Or we'd go to class. But then we'd play cards in class. Bus days were basically play days.)
