I made over 5000 steps in my small house while cleaning and putting boxes away, was busy all morning to get the house ready for some viewers. They bought the house! (Though nothing is definitive yet, the contract should be signed first and then they have still 3 days to back out 🤞).
The house has never been this clean 😅.

Been there, done that. But as I would tell me students, "If you fall asleep while intending to meditate, you most likely needed it!"
Yes, I needed it. Was such a busy week

Congrats on the sale of your house! Hopefully all will go well!
Thanks!

I was so deeply tired, luckily I hadn't anything planned. Started the day on the couch with my laptop. Then did a nice hike through the countryside (though the wind was chilly..). There was an awesome farmers shop, I should go back for serious local product shopping. Went to my mom and then home on the couch again and fell asleep.

"Striving to be the change."
In the Netherlands there are 'Klompenpaden', literally translated 'clog paths', which are hiking routes mostly through the countryside and over farmersland (that's where the reference of clogs is from).
🙃 Without some context I agree it sounds really funny
Thank you for the explanation.
I thought it was a goal you had posted a while back that I had missed or forgotten about.

Are you meant to wear clogs to hike on them? Or they're just Klompenpaden because the farmers who own the land would traditionally have worn clogs?

Luckily you're not meant to, it's indeed because of the tradition of the farmers. Not many people wear clogs daily nowadays, they're not really comfortable if you're not used to wearing them. Though some people walk the 4 day marches in Nijmegen on them (which is like 4 days of 50 km a day for men...).

Dear Santa,

The most wonderful time of the year is coming! I hope you are in good health and shape to start this holiday season.

This year has been a bit of a struggle for me, and I almost forgot myself what I actually like. I have been thinking it over, and there are a few things that came to mind. I love to be outside in nature, for a hike or a run. While working out I like short sets with various exercises, which makes 30 days of HIIT a perfect program for me at the moment. I like a good challenge and a fun game, like with EC, the turkey run, and the snowfall fight. I still have to be careful to not injure myself by losing myself, but I learned a lot and I'm better at listening to my body. I love to do some yoga, in which short poses with a nice flow makes me really relax in body and mind. I think these are the ingredients I have to provide for myself next year, to get back into consistency and back into physical and mental balance. I wish you can help me get started with this good resolution.

Sincerely,

Nancy

My legs are unhappy today. Did a run anyway in the morning, but after walking a lot (2nd day of over 20.000 steps) I decided to skip the HIIT and turkey run. Tomorrow is another day.

@NancyTree we like many of the same things. You might want to check out SOMA 40+ even though I don't believe you are in your 4th decade yet :) I'm on my second round of this program and like the variety of weights, cardio and yoga. You could always add weight & reps to increase difficulty. Sometimes we get stuck into doing what we think we're 'supposed' to be doing. There is a lot of wisdom in defining what you like and don't and deciding to choose those things which add to your well being. Best wishes to you!

November summary
I got more consistency in my running, but still 66 km to go in December to get to my running goal for the year. I'm not sure if I should push myself, because it can also kill the fun in running. Especially when I keep in mind that December will be husy and stressful with the move; extra important to run, but not overdoing it.

Looking back, I have cisited way more museums than I remebered. Last month I counted 2, but it was already 5.

November
30/30 days active
Walk/hike: 39.6 km
Run: 54.3 km

October
29/31 days active
Walk/hike: 79.83 km
Run: 25.63 km

2024 Bucket List
:v: Visit 5 museums (7/5)
:v: Visit an awesome place/country (3/1)
▪️ Go to the theater 5 times (2/5)
▪️ Work on a project every month (like MiniSteck, crochet, jigsaw puzzles, drawing) (6/12)
▪️ Learn 2 new piano pieces. (0/2)
