Today's Log (4-10-25)
Soon, I'll have a day where I'm not having plans right when I wake up. But apparently today was not that day, lol. (It'll be Saturday ... as of now.) Did originally have plans, but the brother-in-law was in town. So he came over for a bit. We're selling him my old car, so it was a good opportunity for him to check it out and see the good, bad, and the ugly on her. Haha. She really is a good car, just has a few gremlins (if anyone is into cars, it's a second generation prius so has those standard gremlins). Luckily, it's overall an improvement over the car he has and he's pretty sure he can tinker with it to fix some of the problems that we couldn't. So yay, I don't have to worry about posting that online or anything. We took him out to eat and then to a game store that was right next door. Of course I bought too much, haha. (Actually did hold back some, though! And within the limits of my allowance budget.)

Rest of the evening was fairly chill afterwards. I felt a bit groggy so had to force myself into doing some exercises. That helped. I really thought my Vietnamese coffee would have helped more though, haha. Took a nap and that helped. Exercise did more so. Ended up crafting a little, though only a little. Still, progress is progress.

Here's hoping tomorrow is a good night at work~

(Yesterday's and) Today's Log (4-12 & 13 -25)
Yesterday was a long day. I accidentally got timings mixed up and was almost late to work. 😨 Fortunately it was okay. I was suppose to have an orientee with me, but they called out. So it was a fairly relaxed shift over all. A coworker brought food from home and let me try some. It was a stew she had made. She made up some fufu to go with it, which is basically a starchy vegetable flour dough ... thing? It felt and tasted like a grainier, firmer, mashed potatoes. But you basically take small bits of it, ball it up in your hand, and use that to eat the stew. It was a bit messy getting use to it (especially since you only use one hand), but really good!

Felt pretty tired during the shift so I never got to my exercise. I took a short nap during my break. Otherwise, I did some reading and a little bit of art time on my tablet. Ended up staying over an extra couple of hours since the day nurse accidentally got her schedule mixed up. I did manage to get my daily gratitude and daily hug done, but I didn't record it. Missed the meditation, though.

So needless to say probably, but I was zonked today. Especially since I wanted to get up at a decent time since I'll need to shift my sleep schedule a decent bit for Sunday. (And I didn't want to miss the entire day.) Didn't feel like doing much, but we did end up going on a nice lil' walk through the neighborhood. We have a short path we take, but we went the longer time this time. Then cuddles after dinner while watching some anime. Convinced myself to at least do some warmups and catch up on the daily crunch challenge. That should be alright for today, right? Well, it's gonna have to be, haha.

Today's Log (4-13-25)
Today seemed to have went by fairly quickly. Got up at 10am. Out the door by 11-something. Grabbed lunch on the road and a bit of gas. We listened to a bit of the mate's Letters by Seneca. Some pretty interesting stuff there. Got up to the BF and Metamour's place just before Bestie S. and her friend got up there. After that it was brief hanging out while trying not to be sad. Bestie S. and her friend loaded up her RV and got it ready to take off. And then away they go until sometime in the fall? I don't remember exactly how long, but a really long time. ;n; Had a little bit of feels and also had a sweet tooth going (we kept hearing an ice cream truck in the distance, lol), so we loaded up after they left and went to a snow-cream shop. I got one called the Royal Princess which I can only describe as tasting like pink candy, haha.

After our visit, went by Sam's to do a little bit of grocery shopping and get dinner. Once home, I took a nice long 1.5 hr nap. Seemed I needed it! I was gonna do exercises and stuff, but the mate encouraged me to go onto VRChat; partly because I hadn't been on this weekend and I'm trying to socialize more and partly because this group was watching a movie I had heard about that sounded fun. I missed part of the movie, but had a really good time. And made a friend. :D

But felt pretty tired afterwards, so not a lot done. Our plan is to go to visit the BIL to drop off my old car tomorrow. But I'm hoping I can get back into the swing of my exercise routine and such. And my craft project, since it's been a few days and I got a lot of work to do on it! Though I don't really regret how today went. Other than Bestie S. leaving, it was a really good day.

Today's Log (4-14-25)
I was gonna wake up at 11, but decided to sleep an extra hour because I was so tired yesterday. I thought I hit the alarm. But turns out by the time I forced myself outta bed, it was 1 in the afternoon. Whoops~

Fortunately, our plans for today were fairly loose. We ate a late lunch and then headed out to visit the brother in law. He's buying my old car from me, so we drove it up to give it to him. We also just hung out and visited a bit. Since we were there late enough, he offered to cook us dinner. Chicken katsu with rice, curry, and miso soup. Heck yeah, we're staying! XD He also gave us rice crackers as a snack and this water hydration drink called Pacari Sweat. I hadn't tried that one yet so that was fun. (Pretty nice, soft lemonaid like flavoring.) He even let me help him out with the cooking. <3 He even let us take leftovers home. <3

After that, it was a laid back enough of an evening. I meant to work on crafting, but time kinda slipped away from me. I at least got supplies out for the next step, so there's that. I also caught up on my exercise so I'm back on track now. Hooray! I was gonna read, but I at least downloaded the graphic novel for my book club on Wednesday. I'm gonna read through that tomorrow night as a treat. (This month it's Black Cat Social Club.)

So overall, not the most productive, but a very nice day.

Today's Log (4-15-25)
Good day today! I was a bit lazy at first, but good morning. The mate ended up getting home early so I was able to have a bit of a breakfast with some show watching and cuddle time with him. Got a little bit of crafting productivity time in, though not has much as I was hoping. At least this current step is fully set up so hoping I can do more tomorrow maybe.

Before long, it was time for date night. We agreed that I'd pick him up from work and head up to his place together so we'd have more time together. It was really nice chatting on the drive. Ended up going by McDonald's for dinner since he wasn't able to cook. They had minecraft toys, so I ended up getting a kids meals with additions and giving him the toy since he plays the game. Got the silliest looking pink sheep. (Which was a good thing. I told him if I got the bee, it was cute so I would keep it myself, lol.) Watching Star Trek with lots of cuddles.

Then back home that evening. Got exercises in, though the DOMS from yesterday's crunches appeared. I'm not surprised by it, but definitely not welcomed lol. A bit of show watching and game time. I did make sure I got my book finished for my book club meeting tomorrow. For the curious, this month's graphic novel was Black Cat Social Club. Pretty fun. Though somehow it's gotten to be almost 5am so I probably need to get to bed. We'll see how tomorrow goes~

Today's Log (4-16-25)
Good day today! I had my first book club meeting. There was four of us including myself (apparently one person was out), and all about my age, too. Apparently it was a typical meeting of the first half talking mostly about the book and then the second half letting the conversation take us where it goes, haha. It was fun. And I admitted, I love graphic novels so it appealed to me, but also trying to socialize more. I really couldn't have asked for a better meetup. :D I ended up making a friend and talking for an hour afterwards.

The rest of the day was fairly lazy. I had a lot of trouble staying motivated and focused on my tasks for today. I started sewing for the plush cat, but only some. I did make the set up as easy as possible without being in the way, though, so I'm hopeful that will encourage me to work on it more tomorrow. I managed to get my basic exercise routine done but I definitely pushed it.

So good day. But I got some goals to improve on it tomorrow.

Today's Log (4-17-25)
Today started out fairly chaotically. The plan was for AT&T Fiber to be installed starting around 2pm. I was gonna get up at 1, quickly get dressed and stuff, and clean slightly before the person got here. And have the mate get here at about the same time. Well, apparently he was able to come early. The mate got here from work just at about the same time he did. (His position is flexible so no worries there.) And both got home before I woke up. D: Got up, dressed as quickly as possible, and gave up on what the house looked like, lol. Most of the time he was outside anyways. It turned out to be a fairly quick and painless procedure.

We ended up cleaning and reorganizing a little bit since it was a good opportunity to. That, and the mate's ADHD decided it was whirlwind time, haha. Fortunately for me it wasn't as chaotic as it sometimes gets and I was able to let him know when I was beginning to feel a bit off. As the day went, though, things calmed down more and more into a nice transition. He showed me the new avatar he made up for me for VRChat. (I've been using a cute deer one, but he made a version of it that was colored to look like my fursona. She's adorable!) Managed to get a decent amount of crafting time in too. The striped section is close to the halfway mark. As this is the most experimental of it, it'll be nice when it's finished. Exercising went well too. Did a good job balancing things today, I think.

The hardest part was staying up late enough. Got work Friday night so getting to sleep in as late as possible helps a lot.

Today's Log (4-19-25)
Not too bad of a day, though it was fairly short. Slept pretty late into the afternoon/evening. It was a good, fairly laid back day though. No crafting done because I forgot about it. But I started a comic book yesterday called The Marble Queen and got to finish it tonight. I thought about jumping into VRChat for a bit but ended up skipping so I could chill and read. Was nice to just relax for a bit. I also made a couple of phone calls. My momma-in-law wanted to talk with us to wish us an early happy Easter (since we'll be hanging out with friends tomorrow). That was a good phone call for the 3 of us. :) And I called my dad to catch up with him a little. We usually do short phone calls, and he was with some friends of his, but it was a good phone call. Overall, things went pretty well I think. :) Though starting tomorrow, I'm gonna have to work at prioritizing meditation since I've been really bad about it this week. I only officially did 10 minutes ... twice, it looks like. ^_^;;;;

I also see that new treasure hunting event. I'm gonna have to put some thought into which I wanna try for. Hmmmm ... Luckily others will probably start before I do, so I can see what others are going after to help plan. XD To challenge myself or to help out with one of those tasks that takes a lot of people. Decisions, decisions~ Also need to remind myself the difference between high knees and marching steps. ^_^;;;

Also, I realized I never shared how the black cat jacket turned out! My Bestie S did an AMAZING job with it. She got the style of the words down better than in the original, haha. Picture at the bottom of the post. <3 She does such great work. Link for proof

Happy Easter for those who celebrate! We're eating a quiche for lunch to celebrate. And maybe breaking into some peeps, hehe.

Today was a pretty good day. Got up at a decent time and had a bit to myself before the crew came over. We chatted and hung out for a bit. Then we ended up going out to see the Minecraft movie. It was really fun! I had a good time with it. And the BF got a really cool workshop themed popcorn bucket. Got back home and had a bit of time to relax. I ended up going to the VRChat movie night since I had a lot of fun at it last week. Tonight was RedLine. Good times. I was in there a lot longer this time, though, and a bit tired. I'm happy I did my meditation and at least a little exercise before everything really started up to day.

Heading to the forest for the treasure hunt event! Best of luck everyone participating! I love that people are putting out extra suggested challenges too. (I know it's jokes, but it still seems fun.) I'm tempted to do the same, haha.

Today's Log (4-21-25)
Today started out fairly tired. I had to check my watch 3 times before I was able to do it in real life and not half-dreaming, haha. But good day. The mate was off work so we got to hang out for a bit parallel playing (basically doing our own things while in the same space). Got my exercises done and made it to the forest for the treasure hunt event. Then off to date night. I'm really happy as the BF has been working on himself and it's really showing. He also got a medical waiver to not have to drive an hour (plus) each way to and from work which has really helped him out physically (he'll be able to start going to the gym again) and mentally. I'm so happy for him. ^_^ We had a really good date night for the most part. Then back home where I sorta relaxed because I was tired. I did manage to get a little bit of crafting in. I realized how close my deadline is getting (less than a month) so I'm gonna have to kick that into gear. I plan to work on it more tomorrow. (I have a work meeting online, so that's a good opportunity, haha.)

On the exercising front, I've got one more day for TEN. I think I'm gonna end up repeating it instead of finding a new program. One, I like the idea of guaranteeing myself at least 10 minutes of exercise a day. But I also know that there were plenty of days where I had to take a break to complete it. (And for a couple, I had to take multiple breaks.) So I wanna give it another shot with doing it as written as a goal. Though not sure I could on the second attempt either. ^_^;;; I saw one bit of advice for a different program about repeating a day until you can complete it, so that's something to consider as well.

Having to fight with customer service seems to be universal unfortunately.
A few years ago, I had a rep actually argue with me over cancelling my cable subscription, and then terminate the call because I was being "Aggressive" (It was definitely a deliberate tactic, because the second rep I talked to tried exactly the same thing. And even then I had to pay two extra months because apparently 'Cancel my cable subscription' can be interpreted as 'Cancel a random, tiny, inconsequential part of my cable subscription') :giveup:

I had no idea that it was universal! That is terribly frustrating.

I was about to go on a walk but then the mate got home so scrapped that idea. It was close to time for an online staff meeting with work anyways, so that worked out. Went to the meeting and made sure to pay attention while I was working on some sewing. I wished I had made more progress, but I did a pretty good amount today. It took a couple of time blocks but the mate joined me and we did 500 high steps today. Yay for making it to the forest! I'll have to bake up some cookies to celebrate if I can remember to. The mate and I made up a nice dinner of chicken, broccoli, and mac and cheese. We've realized that a lot of times, we accidentally assume the other person is heading up the meal so we've worked on our communication with it. And that's going really well! We're also working on meals together more which is fun.

Ended up taking a decent nap earlier. Not the best of sleep the last couple of nights. (We also broke into a wine I was gifted and that didn't help, ahaha.) Evening was fairly relaxed overall.

And ... huh.... I got marching steps and high knees mixed up this whole time I think. Soooo, ahhh, I think I've been doing high knees instead probably every time it's said marching steps. ^_^;;;

Today's Log (4-23-25)
So good news is that I had a great excuse to lounge in bed for a good period of time. The bad news is that there was a call out at work and since I was originally going in tonight, I agreed to come in. (I was gonna orient someone, but she didn't need more orientation time so I didn't have to, basically.) Not the best, not the worst though.

I did get a very nice surprise when I actually got up. The mate was home. He has this nice chest for his stall when he sells at cons. (For the curious. He sprints minis, makes D20 dice of his own design ((with paw prints)), and is working on making these coins to sell now.) He had that chest on my desk waiting for me. And inside was half a giant cookie since we made it to the forest. :D He had a coworker give him an extra she had and thought it was a great way for us to celebrate. NOM NOM NOM! 🍪

Work itself went alright. Fairly laid back overall. I forgot to do exercises though. ;n; I did get a good bit of crafting though! The stripped section I was working on is complete, so that makes me happy as it was the most experimental. Even played around with this 3-D modeling program I have on the tablet.

Overall, good day. Though definitely night night time now.

Pretty good day today, other than feeling like I got up way too early. Had a counseling appointment that went well. Cuddled for a bit with the mate then got dinner started. Got my exercises going. And then played on a new phone game and on the computer a bit. Even managed to get some crafting in. Working on the plush cat properly, slowly forming the head. Mostly just a nice, relaxing day. :)

Today's Log (4-25-25)
Today felt like a really quick day. I think it was mostly we were constantly loosing track of time doing things. I hung out longer than meant before going to my friend's house to take care of her kitties. (I'm not sure I mentioned, but the mate and I are going to her house twice a day to take care of her 3 kitties while they're gone. I'll see about posting pictures of them tomorrow.) We took longer than expected watching shows with dinner (because we didn't realize the epic fight was gonna be five episodes long). Spent longer in VRChat than expected.

So it was a really good day. But it also meant that I didn't do much of anything that I thought I would. ^_^;;; ahehe. I did catch up on my webcomics, though, so that was good. ^_^ But I'll be trying to get back into the routine more tomorrow.

Today was a bit more productive than yesterday. Kinda, haha. Fairly laid back. But I did get a workout in and some crafting time in. The head of my plush is really coming along. Ended up hopping into VR for a short bit later on. Honestly, the main thing was I treated myself to pizza today, haha. 🍕 Oh yeah! And I treated myself to a nice long nap, which is a thing I really should do more often I think.

Naps really are wonderful @Mamatigerj . I swear I'm like a toddler in that I don't want to go down for a nap, but I always love it when I do, hahaha.

Today was pretty fast paced. I got up at 11ish and had to hit the ground running. Off to grab lunch, feed my friend's kitties, and then off to the BF and metamour's place for family day. Today was an extra special family day as one of the BF's kids was visiting for a few days. I haven't seen her in ages. Hung out, played a round of Red Dragon Inn (a favorite of our group), and hung around chit chatting for a bit. Then it was time to leave, take care of friend's kitties for the second time, and then finally home to rest a bit. The mate ended up going to VRChat again while I initially was gonna cancel. I did overhear that I was missed, so that gave me warm fuzzies. <3 Relaxed, did my exercises, drank a cup of coffee, and ended up with enough energy to pop on for a little bit. Good weekend, though I'm definitely tired now, haha.

Today's Log (4-28-25)
Oh wow, is it really almost May already!? Where did April go?!

Woke up really groggy. I've been having some crazy, very active dreams. I'd swear my dreams were making me more tired, haha. (In truth, I'm probably waking up in the wrong stage of sleep, too close to dream stage.) Took it easy at first with a light breakfast, coffee, and show time with the mate. After that, I prioritized doing meditation and most of my workout for today. Then relaxing for a bit. I did loose track of time and mis-estimated things though. Had to go feed the kitties in the afternoon/evening (the mate did the morning shift) and then off to the BF's place for date night. Traffic was horrible, so Google routed me through some really pretty back roads. The BF treated me to Chinese takeout where I got way too much, haha. (Not that I'm complaining about not having to worry about lunch plans the next day, lol). And then more Star Trek: Strange New Words time. There was one episode in particular that was interesting; I warned the mate I would need to get him to watch it to see what he thought of it from a stoic perspective. (For the curious, it was season 2 episode 4: Among the Lotus Eaters, specifically about the old man.) Back home afterwards was mostly relaxing. I got the Daily Crunch in though. Probably should have worked on the plush cat since I'm beginning to run short on time, but ended up doodling a little instead.

Overall, not a terrible Monday. :)

Today's Log (4-29-25)
Today started a little late. My watch died on me as I was going to bed (I often miss the low battery notification) so I didn't really have an alarm set. It was nice waking up when my body wanted to. And nicer that I was able to snooze in a bit. I felt much less fatigued than I did yesterday. <3

Started out the day with some doodling since I had some creative ideas in my head. Also got my meditation in. I was gonna make a breakfast, but it turned out to be much bigger and later than I was planning so it was my dinner instead, haha. Tossed a bunch of things together to make a big bowl of creamy chicken soup. YUM! Got my exercises in after that and then managed some craft time in. The head is ... maybe halfway? I flipped it so it'll be ready for stuffing. Got to learn how to trim faux fur since the black I have is fairly long fur. Tomorrow I'll hopefully be able to stuff it, attach these pretty buttons for eyes I found, and get the nose rigged up on it. Maybe even the ears as well. I was able to find a free STL file for a simple triangle doll nose and the mate agreed to print one up. I'm gonna have to prime/paint it and then figure out how I'll attach it, but it looks so professional, haha. But not too bad of progress for getting constantly distracted, LOL. (I play fun videos as background for it, but then I get distracted by them. Or my phone games, NGL.)

Had some time to relax too though. The mate and I are nearing the end of Shangri-La Frontier season 2. I'm currently watching Unite Up! season 2 and making slow progress on that. And even helped put away the dishes, haha.

But overall, a good day. Though I kept forgetting that it's only Tuesday (or, well, was anyways). Gonna feel friend on Friday when I go into work.

Today's Log (4-30-25)
Not too bad of a day. But not a lot to report, either. Mostly took it easy, TBH. I did a bit excited because a small event I'll be going to dropped their schedule today (though not finalized). Saw the end of Shangri-La Frontier and very upset that we'll have to wait probably a year before seeing how two different big events end. D:

Reevaluated my exercises since I finished the Daily Crunch. I think I'm gonna replace it with Micro Shred as a regular workout for the time being. I'm also thinking about moving Better Sleep to my regular quests section since I keep skipping it and doing yoga daily seems like a good idea. I am debating about adding on an arm exercise like Arms of Steel since that still remains a pretty bad weak point for me. But I don't want to overload myself (and my muscles). I could see re-doing the seated version, though. Hmmmm ... I suppose I don't have to decide immediately though.

Lots of gaming time today. But also at times feeling a bit ... uneasy? That's not really the right word though. Maybe more like aimless. I saw the mate working on art and was wondering why I wasn't as eager to do the same, even though I enjoy it. I convinced myself to do at least a little bit of work on my craft project and I'm really happy with how it's coming along. So why did it take just before bed to do it? Honestly, I think it's partially that my depression isn't fully gone just because I have counseling and medication and support. It's just been a TON of good or neutral times that I didn't really realize it and put the brakes on it earlier. I'm gonna have to be mindful of that in the future.

But overall, it was a good day. While I feel like I wasted it a bit, I don't feel like it was a bad day. I don't even fully regret how I spent it, TBH. I'm just gonna try to work on balancing things more tomorrow and go from there. :)

Today's Log (5-1-25)
Blessed Beltane for those who celebrate it! And for those who don't, happy May Day or first of May.

Mostly relaxing day, other than the bed keeping me hostage, haha. Got a little bit of crafting in: got the nose mostly primed (it got smudged, so I'll have to address that once it's dried) and started sewing the ears (after having to recut a piece because I forgot seam allowance). Good balance of things overall. The mate attempted a bannock-like recipe for me to go with dinner since I heard about them a lot in one of my pagan newsletters I use to get. Perfect for a holiday noted for bonefires. We added our favorite go-to seasoning to it and it was pretty tasty!

For exercises, I forgot that Arms of Steal is a ... level 4 program. So that's not gonna happen for a while, lol. So I decided to do the seated version again since that's still a strong workout for me but shouldn't overlap too much with the other ones I'm doing. Though thinking I should stick with just a level 1 so I don't accidentally hurt myself. (I can't remember what level I did before.) Officially moved Better Sleep and Micro Shred to my regular workouts. That just leaves jogging in place, the Balance workout, and anything extra I do in the optional workouts. That seems a bit more reasonable, I think. I'll give this a few days to see how it goes.

Work tomorrow night. Trying to figure out if I'll appreciate the change of pace or be sad that I can't work on my plush cat during it. XD (Even though steps have been taken to avoid the faux fur shedding, I'm not sure it's a good idea to bring it with me.)

Today's Log (5-2-25)
Rainy day when I woke up~ 🌧🌦🌧

Experimented this morning. I got up 2 hours before work instead of just one. I tried working out at least partially and grabbing a quick shower before bed. Worked out pretty well. Even had time to make up breakfast and watch an episode of my show before going in instead of just heating something in the microwave real quick. (Just barely though. I'll have to be mindful in the future.)

Work started out a bit rough though. They had a busy day shift so there was a little bit of catching up and running around when I first got in. But that all settled down quickly enough. At first a lot of my downtime was spent with phone games. But ended up snapping out of the mood a bit evening. Got some reading in (read a graphic novel called "Bowling with Corpses and Other Strange Tales from Lands Unknown." Really interesting fantasy story, where the world is built up slowly through the anthology.) By the end of the shift, I even doodled a little bit. :) And somehow still had spoons to talk and reassure my work bestie this morning who was already pretty exhausted. She's a pretty cool person and a great nurse, though, so I know she'll be fine.

Now off to bed. Gonna try to get up at a halfway decent time since I'll be shifting my sleep schedule slightly for Sunday. Ick.

Speaking of mood, I had a talk with the mate about how sorta demotivated I've been feeling the last couple of days. Granted, it's shark week next week so that very well could be the reason. But I also ran out of my ashwagonda halfway through the week. I only take a half-dose, but that may be affecting my mood a little bit potentially. (I'm not sure if it's too early or not to tell, TBH.) So may be getting back on that. But the mood tracking was helpful to show that I had occasional "blah" moments these past couple of months as well, so it's not as extreme as it felt in the moment. Validation for doing the task that annoys me, haha.

I managed to win the victory over the bed somehow. Overall pretty relaxing day though. We ended up going out to pick up a few groceries and grabbed some food while we were out. Watched a bit of show together. Then kinda hung out and did our own thing. I didn't end up sewing any like I planned, but I at least doodled a little. Got a good amount of exercise in though. Not bad for a low energy kinda day. Though, now that I think about it, I also arranged a couple of hangouts and stuff so go me.

There was an amusing moment while grocery shopping. They had a these cookies and cream flavored cake pops on sale. I love those and that flavor is a fav. So I started to get it, but then hesitated. "I don't really need cake pops." Hesitates. Turns to the mate, "Can you help me? Tell me I don't need these cake pops." Mate: "I think you'd like those cake pops. Especially if you have them as a dessert tonight." -Insert surprise pikachu face meme here- And he was most definitely right, they were delicious!

The mate did show me this game called Adventures with Anxiety. I really liked it. Funny at times, hard hitting other times. But overall, really sound and accurate information. It's a weird game because you play the role of "anxiety," basically. I'd recommend it.

But yeah, don't have much to say about today. Tomorrow is family day, but hoping I can get some work done on crafting. The nose looks ready to go, so hopefully I can get that glued on with a bit of luck. (I say luck, because I'm trying to attach resin to faux fur. Meep.)

Today's Log (5-4-25)
Happy Star Wars day! May the fourth be with you. (Though I'm more of a Trekkie, personally, haha.)

Today ended up being a rest day. Not intended but not a bad use of the day. Got up just a little before the BF and his wife go here. Hung out for a good bit. Afterwards, ended up taking a big hour and a half nappers. Unfortunately meant I was late for movie night on VRChat, but that was okay. Was happy I got to show off my new full body tracking set up. Got tired after that and kinda just hung out.

Didn't really do any crafting things. I did, however, pick the mate and BF's brains on the best method for attaching the nose to the doll. Between the two of them, I have a pretty good game plan in mind. Though I'm gonna have to wait a bit to do it, but that's okay, plenty to work on with it otherwise.

Today's Log (5-5-25)
Not too bad of a day. Got chill with the mate a little before heading out for date night. Date night was fun. We ended up getting fast food, but that's okay for an occasional treat. Especially since I got a cookie, haha. Saw some dang good episodes of Star Trek that provoked some good discussion. Relaxed a decent bit of the evening. I did a bit of exercise but stopped partway through. I think I was overheating, but I got a little light headed and didn't want to push myself too much. (I'm almost certainly dehydrated, so I'll have to work on that.) I'll try again tomorrow for the full set. Finishing off the evening with a little bit of crafting with some youtube videos. Not a lot, granted. I got the other ear sewn, though both still need to be closed up and attached to the head. But it's enough to get the ball rolling again. One of the videos I watched was recommended by @TopNotch (Why You Lose Your Creativity (and How to Get it Back)). Between that and another video by the same creator, got me thinking a bit about my relationship with artwork.

Also talked a bit in the evening with the mate. He is very much a classical Stoic. And, well, pretty sure I'd fall squarely into the school of Epicurean. He's been going to a meetup with some friends who happen to also be stoics (or at least interested in it) and it's getting me tempted to learn more about epicureanism. So may consider that.

Today's Life Pro(?)tip: Try putting peanut butter on your oreos. It's good. Trust me. ^_~

Slow start to the day so I could drink some coffee when I first got up. But went to the grocery store to pick up my medications and grab a few things including dinner stuff. Treated myself to some mini chicken dumplings and a california roll. <3 Watched a few more episodes of My 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love Me (romcom anime that's pretty good, pretty wholesome and pretty good representation of polyam). On my own, I also ended up finishing Unite Up season 2. That music is sooooo good for that final episode.

Got a good chunk of crafting time in today with, ahhhh, mixed results. Got the ears sealed up after spending longer than I'd like to admit reminding myself how a ladder stitch (or invisible stitch) works. I always get it mixed up for some reason. But then attaching the ears did not go smoothly at all. I had two full attempts that kept having two problems: either the knot would just wiggle itself through the felt or the thread wasn't pulled tight enough to have the ears flush against the head (which was hard to judge because the faux fur is pretty long). I ended up having to take a break for a bit and do something else while working through that tangled problem. (Pun intended.) After brainstorming with the mate, I got a good idea that ended up working out. So yay, the head is done other than attaching the nose ... though I think I also want to darken the pink of it. So I may be painting it and then sealing it first, haha.

Exercises went well. Later than intended for both that and the meditation, but it got done eventually. ^_^;;; Making progress.
