the knot would just wiggle itself through the felt
If your knot is being mean, try sewing a few small backstitches in a place that will be covered up.
The pressure from pulling the thread tight will then be contained in the backstitches instead of putting pressure on the knot and pulling it through =)
Some people actually use that method instead of using any knots, especially where a knot would show up through fine fabrics

Peanut butter inside or outside the oreo?

I just put some on top, because it's easy that way.
My daughter does this, and then sticks them in the freezer.

OoOo, I'll have to try that! I know that we're a big fan of Nutty Buddies in the freezer, so we'd probably like that too.

That's a good idea. Though does that work with hand sewing? This whole plush is being done without the machine.

Yep, this is specifically a hand-sewing technique ^^
I do a fair bit of hand sewing if I am making historical styles, and yeah backstitches work surprisingly well to secure your thread =D

Oh that's definitely good to know then! Thanks a bunch!

Today's Log (5-7-24)
Today honestly started out a little bit on the blah side. FB reminding me that things are pretty trash. The mate had a bit of a hard time due to work stresses (less his and more those around him. Working in a research area in the US is not the most fun at the moment) and one of his controllers for VR acting up. We were going to do a movie night with an online friend, but it got rescheduled since the mate's controller broke while he was trying to fix it. D: Luckily he'll be getting a new one soon and was able to use a gift card he got from work to get it. We spent the evening cuddling with shows and I decided that a very tasty (though admittedly very unhealthy) feast of fried foods was in order. It was cooked with the air fryer though. That counts for something, right? Right? XD

On the crafting front, ahhhh, not much done. Time slipped away, to be honest. I did decide I wanted to darken the pink of my kitty's nose so I painted that real quick. Fortunately, the mate was working on his dice making stuff using his 2-part epoxy, which he offered to try on my doll to stick the nose on. (No, this isn't how it should be attached. At all. But I messed up not putting a pin on the nose and attaching it before stuffing and closing so this is the solution we're trying, lol.) It's looking so cute so far! I definitely plan to work hard on it tomorrow! ... Hopefully. ^_^;;; The mate has been doing a LOT of creative stuff and it gets me motivated to do some too!

Exercises went pretty well. Managed to get some jogging in place though like I haven't done in a bit. ^_^

Today's Log (5-8-25)
Pretty good day today. Had a counseling appointment that went pretty well. I've started watching Infinity Train and I'm really digging it. The mate was out of the house a lot today, hanging out with his brother at a tech meetup. Good for both of them, I think. :) Though that meant I had to figure out dinner on my own. I've been craving tuna casserole for a few days so I went with that. I thought I had an easy frozen dinner of it, but that was something else. Fortunately, I had all the ingredients so I figured I could bake it. So tasty, I had more later on, haha. I managed to make some good progress on the plush doll. I'm so happy to be working on the actual body at this point, since that's going faster.

My old nemesis Time Management has reappeared though. I think I'm loosing more time than I realize on phone games. I'll have to reevaluate some of it (and possibly remove one that's particularly addictive that I've been enjoying). But overall, good day. I do worry a bit about not doing enough around the house or with my art or things I wanna do. I ended up talking to the mate and he was surprised that 1.) I felt that way and 2.) he felt that way as well. So, ahhh, I guess we're good, haha.

Off to bed now, I think. Nighty night bees. I hope you have a good day. May you find that food you're craving and enjoy it as much as you think you will. :)

I love Infinity Train! Still annoyed that it got cancelled (And that they only released half of it on DVD).
It's soooo good! I ended up finishing season 1. Then got the mate to watch a couple of episodes and we binged season 1, haha. I just finished watching season 2 on my own. I can't wait for the next two seasons. Shame it got cancelled, though. It's so good and creative. And well made, too.

Today's Log (5-9-25)
Today was a bit of a mixed bag kinda day. At first, both the mate and I were feeling kinda stuck in a laze around, unproductive mood. Fortunately we got a break in the rain long enough to go take a nice long walk. Got back and ended up getting dinner (we split the rest of the tuna casserole I made) and some shows. Finished up 100 Girlfriends. Then we decided to share shows. He showed me the first episode of his personal show Undead Unluck and I showed him Infinity Train. We ended up both really enjoying each other's shows. :D

But then we had a slight anxiety moment. We saw that someone was using a flashlight out past our lil' fenced in backyard. The mate figured it was probably someone trying to look for their dog or something. We end up going out the back and he calls over the fence asking if everything was okay. And, well, hello police officer. 😨 She stated they were looking for someone who did some property damage of some sort. They described the guy and I was glad they couldn't see us well because I have no poker face. We told them no, wished her luck, and scooted our butts back inside post haste. Preeeetty sure they were looking for either our neighbor across the street (not the nice one with the dog) or friend of theirs or whoever he is. He (and honestly the whole group over there) have been a bit ... concerning over a long period of time and we want zero involvement with it. Other than keeping an ear out to make sure no one gets hurt.

So, ahhh, that didn't help with the earlier mood. Ended up going onto VRChat since we have a regular Friday party. Went to that a bit then did some world hopping. I found a super cute lil' cat themed lounge to hang out. And then just took most of the night relaxing. Overall, not a terrible day but a bit more of a roller coaster than I'd like. But ending on a good note at least. Eventually got some things done I wanted to as well. Not that I mind a mostly lazy day, since I've got work Saturday night. 😆

Been a relatively past couple of days, so doing the logs in one post.

Today's Log (5-10-25)
Had work. Sad to miss a Saturday to myself, but it's okay occasionally. Once again tried to wake up early enough to do some stuff before work. Got part of the workout done ahead of time and did a little more at work. I also decided that, since it's crunch time on the plush cat, I'd take it in and work on it during a bit of downtime. Actually had pretty good success with that. Though also read a bit. I went ahead and read the book for my book club, a graphic novel adaption of The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I hadn't read the original but dang, the graphic novel adaptation was a lot to take in. It was easy to figure out things I'm grateful for, though, haha. Though talking to the mate and my metamour, seems part of my struggle with the gratitude thing is that I dismiss small basic things as obvious or don't count or something. So food for thought on that. Work went really smoothly. But went straight to bed because I had to get up relatively early for family day.

Today's Log (5-11-25)
So working Saturday night, trying to go to bed Sunday morning and then having family day in the afternoon was ... not the most fun. I was antsy so my sleep wasn't the best. More than that, we had a bit of miscommunication. I planned to just get up whenever people got here. They were thinking I could give a heads up when I got up and they'd come down. After a bit, they figured they should head on down. I don't think it fully clicked that I was gonna squeeze out as much sleep time as I could. Ended up going to bed around 8am and getting up around 3pm, so I can't really complain about them coming down late other than the fact that it made for a short family day.

I ended up skipping VRChat to work on the plush. Got a TON of work done on it. The plush is flipped and mostly done. Gotta stuff her, close the stuffing hole, then attach her head and tail and she'll be done. It turned out pretty good so far. I definitely wanna revisit this pattern to make one for myself sometime. ^_^ But because of the chaotic schedule of today, I didn't end up doing any exercises today. I'll see if I can squeeze them in tomorrow, but I'm thinking most of this week will be a bust for structured exercise since on Wednesday I head out for a trip and won't be back until late Monday.

Oh that sounds stressful! And yeah, sometimes it's better to keep still about things and not be involved.

I also tend to find that fun phone games are incredibly time-consuming :(
So I decided to just stop playing them. Even the non-predatory ones just eat up large parts of your day.

I realized I responded to this in my head but not on here, haha.

Completely fair to just stop playing them. Phone games are one of the things I like doing so I don't want to go that fair. But I'm putting in some new rules about how I play them. Such as not watching ads for more energy for the most part. I've had to do similar with the gotcha styled games and other times in the past. Just trying to find that balance.

Well that break went longer than expected and lasted longer than expected. Whoops~ But during the trip, I did get a decent bit of walking in. We stayed at a hotel and I used the stairs except for when I was carrying luggage or when I was talking to someone who needed the stairs. Ended up doubling my normal amount of walking, haha.

Hoping to get back into it tomorrow. ^_^

For anyone curious, I did manage to get the cat plush finished! Here's pictures:

Thank you @Mr.Javo @Mamatigerj and @Anek

So, ahhhh, yesterday I did not, in fact, jump back into exercise. I got my daily hug in. But in the evening, I went to a lesbian bar for drag bingo and then karaoke afterwards. I was so tired afterwards, I just chilled. I did at least get some walking in ... from my parking spot a street or two down to the bar and back, lol. Probably should have done it earlier in the day. But hoping for more luck today!

Today's Log (5-23-25)
Well, trying to get back on the horse as they say. Though one change is that I'm dropping the mood tracker a little earlier than intended. I forgot about it last week until ... now. ^_^;;; Since it was gonna end at the end of the month, I might as well consider the project done at this point. I got the information I wanted anyways. Basically, I wanted to 1.) see what my base state of emotions were on my medication and 2.) assess to make sure I didn't overshoot and become, ironically, depressed again since that's basically what happened last time. Fortunately, I tend to have a neutral state with good fluctuations of positive and negative. And, even more importantly, my anxiety and anger is much easier for me to control, allowing me a bit of a pause to address and respond to things before exploding. I think last time I had a mixture of not knowing what to really aim for (I don't really remember pre-anxiety/depression time of my life well enough) as well as a bit of toxic positivity in thinking that neutral/calm state was a bad thing when it's really not. So, mental health is going well, even if I'm still working on things (as I'm sure I always will be).

A bit hard to get back into working out. That whole "bodies at rest tend to stay at rest" bit. But I know that the second part "bodies in motion tend to stay in motion" so if I can get going, it'll be easy enough (relatively) to keep up with. I only did part of my set to ease back into it. The mate did suggest a walk, though, which was nice. We went in the late evening as it was getting darker and cooler. And made friends with a sweetie pie of a black kitty.

Not much past that. A little bit on VRChat but had to cut out early since I need to get up early (for me) tomorrow. I've started working on my new craft project too, which should be fun if I can pull it off. But good day overall, I think.

Today's Log (5-24-25)
Whelp, I meant to do more things today. But, ahhhh, life happens, haha. But in a good way this time. Got up early (for me anyways) to get lunch with my new friend from my graphic novel book club. I figured it would be a couple of hours, probably no more than four. So that didn't happen. We were there three hours before I invited her to come to my place to hang out (partly to get more coffee, not gonna lie, lol). We ended up hanging out for over six hours. And it was almost later, but we both had to get dinner and stuff, lol. So, yeah, I think I've made a good friend. ^_^

After that, I was kinda tired so I didn't want to do much of anything. Ate leftovers and finished off Undead Unluck (which had a really good start, but we both felt the pacing/storyboarding was a bit off for the second half). Took a short nap. Eventually convinced myself late in the evening to do a partial workout like I did yesterday. I did end up skipping the VRChat this evening, but I listened in a little to the mate, hehe.

So not a bad day overall. :)

Today's Yesterday's Log (5-25-25)
Whoops. I never really felt like I had time to exercise. Technically, I probably could have at least done warm-ups, but oh well. I'll try to remember that I can sneak bits and pieces in going forward. Woke up and fairly shortly headed out for family day. After that, got home and took a nap. Relaxed a little and then had VRChat which was a movie night and then hangout time. And ended up going to bed shortly after that. So not exactly a productive day, but it was a good day. :)

Today's Log (5-26-25)
Got up after about 9 hours. That's about normal for me, and much better than the 10 hours of all last week. So I suppose I'm doing better. Shortly after waking up, the mate wanted to go for a walk so somehow I managed to do that before my first cup of coffee. Whooooooa. Haha. After that, got my workout in. Managed to remember to meditate. Had a short date night with the BF (he was late coming over, but he's staying a couple of nights so it all works out). And some relaxing time. Even managed to get a bit of art time in. So good day. :)

Today's Log (5-27-25)
Honestly, today was a pretty casual day. I did do a lot that I wanted to do. Watched some of my personal shows, did some sketching, and even a little bit of video game time. I also cooked up dinner for the mate, the BF, and myself. I'm pretty happy with the results of it. Learning you can make yellow rice stupidly easy is a game changer.

Unfortunately, I don't have a lot to say. Probably because it's getting a little late, hehe. But it was a really good day. ^_^

Rough start to the day. Had some rough dreams that gave me a slight blah mood that took a bit to shake off. But afterwards, things went well. Had a counseling sessions and she had some GREAT tips for helping me with being productive and such. Mostly chill day overall. I forgot my meditation and only did about half my workout, but I suppose that's not too bad once in a while. (And I didn't want my stomach hurting from the micro shred, lol.) Tomorrow I've got a concert I'll be going to, so I'll have to be a bit better with time management. In my defense, though, I did get some chores done today! I was, apparently, a little out of it. Today's Log (5-30-25)
I forgot important news from yesterday! The mate picked up cinnamon rolls on sale. XD Still working on them and it's such a nice treat. ^_^

Today was a much better day. Chilled a bit. The mate joked about making me chicky nuggies ... and then made me the chicky nuggies. O.O I've got a good one, I swear, lol. Had a short walk around. I had a small crash after that as I remembered something but that was okay. Afterwards, hanging out time for a bit.

Then off to the concert! I was at drag bingo last week and did not win. But they also had a raffle and I did win one of those prizes; a performance of the Indigo Girls performing with a symphony. I honestly wasn't as familiar with them but it was an AMAZING time. Great concert. I'm very tempted to buy a CD of theirs.

Then home. I decided to not do VRChat since I wanted a rest so more hanging out. But trying to keep it balanced. I have a phone app time notification thingy on my phone that I think will help me be conscious of how much time I'm spending on it. Though all day time had been slipping away from me. ^_^;;;;

Yay for good concerts!
I went to a concert on Friday and I've been so happy about it too :lovely:
I saw Arena, a very good prog band which has my absolute favourite singer as their current vocalist.
I even got some hugs :clapclap:

I looked up Indigo Girls, and while I had never heard of the name, I think I heard Closer To Fine on one of my fave queer-run podcasts :morelove:
That sounds like a wonderful show!

Yesterday's and Today's Log (5-31-25 and 6-1-25)
Bit of a busy couple of days.

Saturday I had work. I got up early and managed to do Day 23 of TEN and Day 15 of Arms of Steel. A bit hard since TEN was an arm heavy day. I did the daily hug as well. But kinda forgot to do the rest. Work went pretty well though so that was nice. I'd been away for a few weeks, so I was a little nervous going back. ^_^;;; I even managed to get a little bit of reading and art time in.

Sunday was better than I thought it would be. My metamour had plans that ran into mid-afternoon so I had a good excuse to sleep in for a decent bit. A bit later than I meant, but it all worked out, haha. Hung out for a bit with the crew, got dinner with them, good time. Then got home for VR movie night. Watched The Triplets of Belleville this week. I'd been curious about that movie for a long time now, so was good to finally get to see it. And then kinda hung out in VRChat for a bit. Now just relaxing and calling today a wash for exercising. We'll see about getting back into it tomorrow.

Today's Log (6-2-25)
I didn't say yesterday, but for those in the US - Happy Pride Month! And for those outside the US, happy unofficial pride, haha. You are all lovely folks and deserve love. <3

Slept in a little this morning. Not as much as I wanted to, but some. Fairly chill day overall. On FB a little bit much, but oh well. The mate made up fresh bread and we got to go on a walk around the neighborhood so not too bad. The BF is spending time over here again this week so I got to hang out with him too. Mostly just feeling a bit lazy, but trying to push myself to do the things!

Today's Yesterday's Log (6-4-25)
Yesterday ended up being a bit of a busier day than intended. I chilled a little before getting up. Then had errands to run getting a couple of things from the grocery store including my meds. Dinner and show. A little more chill and then off to work. I picked up the tech overnight shift since there was a call out and they were desperate. Good shift, but kept decently busy. Downtime was spent on phone or reading with a little bit of doodling. I probably could have squeezed in a workout before heading out, but oh well.

Today's Log (6-5-25)
Rough day but trying to make it. Had to get up earlier than I'd like. I had an in person meeting at work which wasn't really a meeting (it was more a celebration officially announcing a sister site, but there were announcement stuff too a little) so I probably could have skipped it, but I felt it was good to go and see folks. Plus, I clocked in since they called it a meeting. Turned out they had an ice cream bar set up and the chef who works there even made up a blueberry pie before taking off. So I think that was the right choice in going, haha. Though I do have the song Blueberry Pie by Bette Midler stuck in my head.

Unfortunately, did get some rough news. As they were suspecting, the mate got a 3 months heads up that he'll be let go from his workplace. Honestly, we both agree that makes sense from a business standpoint. But he's been at this location (though at a few different labs) for over a decade so it's kinda weird. We agreed that he can take a year sabbatical to renew his programing skills and relax and then we'll figure it out afterwards. Luckily our finances are pretty good (we're close to a goal we're working on) so we're not worrying. I am debating about moving over from part-time/as needed to a full time position. I'd loose my scheduling flexibility but I'd gain health insurance through my work since it's currently through his. Basically, a lot to figure out. And they're actually kinda excited to be a house-spouse, which I'm definitely not complaining about. XD

Also seems we have a wasp nest near the door somewhere. And found out I'm apparently not allergic to wasp stings, they just sting. :/

Evening has been going well though. Mostly felt lazy and not wanting to do much. Especially with work tomorrow night. But trying to push myself to at least do a little bit. I mostly feel a bit tired, so glad I took a nice 40 minute nap earlier. ^_^ And working on left over cookies. (Yesterday a coworker and I were talking about cookies, so I made some up. Peanut butter cookies, though I couldn't find any vanilla extract so I experimented with almond extract. Tasty!) Did some art, some gaming, even a little reading time. So not bad. :)

Thank you @PetiteSheWolf and @JCU

Apparently the mate is handling this better than the rest of his team is. He even had coffee ready for me this morning when I woke up to "go ahead and adjust to the role of taking care of you." I'm spoiled by this person, yo. 🥰

As for the wasp nest. Apparently they were trying to build a nest in the door decoration which is probably why they were so aggressive with me. The mate went out battle ready with some Windex (great for stunning them) and a pole we use for dealing with troublesome bugs that break the agreement to stay with us. Apparently fought off 5 or 6 of them. Luckily they were paper wasps so not as aggressive, but I'm sure that wasn't fun. (I'm so proud of them for how far they've gotten with their dislike of flying stingy bugs!). But they were successful. I have been avenged. (Though, he didn't realize I was stung here. He thought it was at work. But my headcannon is that he was reclaiming my honor, lol.)

Today's Log (6-6-25)
Good day today. Had work but woke up early enough to do some exercise before hand. And the mate is apparently already trying to get use to his new role of house-spouse (even though he technically has 3 months, lol) and had coffee for me when I woke up. <3 I also asked him to make up breakfast since I slightly lost track of time and he made me an amazing breakfast sandwich to take into work. <3

Work went pretty well. Our PHP (partial hospitalization program) is unusually high, but I don't see them since they are only there during the day. Our residential numbers are pretty low (4 out of 8 beds filled at the moment) and they're all pretty good folks. So evening went pretty well. I did have to help a little with the new admission, but nothing major. Just a quick EGK and rhythm strip. (Everyone gets one since they are more at risk due to the eating disorders.) What's really nice was seeing my night coworker. I made her chai tea a bit ago because I realized we had all the spices at work. She fell in love with it and loved how healthy it was. Apparently she saw a different recipe she wanted to try last and made us up some. I'm so happy she enjoyed it and thought it was sweet she specifically wanted to make it up when I was there to enjoy. ^_^

Got some good drawing time in at work. I'm currently bouncing between a bunch of different art projects, but I'm just rolling with it for right now, haha. I also got a bit of reading in. My graphic novel book club decided to honor Pride month with Genderqueer. I've been wanting to read that anyways. Oof, that kinda hit hard though. I didn't relate with the author 100% but there were definitely experiences e had that I also experienced which I hadn't really seen talked about in that format before. I think I might end up buying a copy of this book to keep (and share). Though wondering how the club meeting will go (and how much I'll end up sharing). (I'm not sure if I've really said on here, but I'm AFAB agender pansexual polyamorous. So, very much queer, haha.)

After work was visiting kitties. My friend is traveling so we're watching her kitties again. I even managed to see the two outdoor ones. <3 And now it's bedtime for I am a tired puppers. Nighty night bees~

For an almost 50 yeors old heterosexual female it is a bit complicated, but i just hope you are happy and not having too much issues in this crazy workd, people are often so much intolerant and stupid....

And congrats to hubby for caring of you so well.

Take care. :cheeks: :revolving:

Thank you. Luckily the city I live in is pretty liberal despite the state itself being conservative. And our library has zero chill, haha. (My library card is their "read banned books" edition for example.) A bit nervous, since I always am with this sorta thing and I have really been enjoying the club. But also not sure how I'd answer some of the questions if they ask. ^_^;;

And thank you. I told the hubby and it made him smile. :)

Yesterday's Log (6-7-25)
Yesterday was a relatively short day for me since I went to bed so late. Still, we had a good time for our anniversary. Went and took care of kitties dinner than off for our own dinner. We were gonna try a new cafe but apparently the whole place was reserved for a book trivia club. O.O So we went next door to try out a pizza pub place instead. Tried out a cheeseburger pizza which was pretty tasty. Then hit a couple of stores before heading back home. Got home and spent a decent amount of time watching shows since that's something we both enjoy. And then relaxed afterwards with gaming, computer time, and a bit of art. I finished up a sketch that I'm really happy of: a punk lolita opossum. No exercise but that's okay this time I think, hehe.

Today's Log (6-8-25)
Not to bad of a day, though it kept slipping away from me. Got up relatively early since we were going to do the last feeding of my friend's kitties. Turns out the mate got up early naturally so he took care of it for me and left a note saying I could go snooze for a bit. I definitely took him up on it, haha. Had a good time when the BF and his wife came over. We let them know about the mate's job change as well as me wondering about going full time or not in the fall. Of course, they were both super supportive of us both. Found a one-sheet TTRPG that we played that was pretty fun. The Barbenheimer Manifesto. Then kinda hung out, little bit of creative stuff and little bit of just chit chatting. The mate and I were gonna go for a walk afterwards but it turned into a walk around the hardware store instead. Our top lock on the front door was pretty much dead (a piece inside had bent) so we went and got a replacement. Didn't feel up to the Sunday VRChat gathering so just chilled for a bit. I did kinda forget about exercise, though, so only got about half of it in. But at least that's something!

Today's Log (6-9-25)
Thanks @Mamatigerj @graoumia and @Anek ^_^

Day went pretty well, albeit kinda lazy. I did some work trying to figure out if I can stream from my tablet since a discord server I joined will sometimes do art jams together. Mostly figured it out, I think? I also figured out a different thing I was wanting so that's neat. Weather has been pretty gross today but I was able to take a short walk with the mate. Date night was kinda abbreviated with the BF since work went long, but he'll be here Tuesday and Wednesday nights (unless plans change) so it's okay. Hoping to do some crafting time together. :D All in all, not a bad day. Well, we did have one oopsy-daisy. See, the mate and I was gonna start making our own mead. And we, ahhh, made a mistake cleaning the glass carboy. See, we boiled some water and meant to put just a little in to temper the glass before putting the rest in to make sure it doesn't break. Well, we did a little too much water and I'm sure you can guess what happened. D: Luckily it was a clean break, the carboys aren't too expensive, and we learned a good lesson. Sad that the replacement won't have the cute bee design on it (it came with a kit so it's their logo) but we realized we can put our own decals on it so that's okay. May doodle up a cute fox bee for it since it's mostly the mate's hobby, hehe.

About time to pick out a new program. Thinking about trying a second attempt on the Hero's Journey.

    • I'm grateful that my partners are patient, supportive, and kind to me
    • I'm grateful that when the carboy broke, it was a clean break instead of glass shards everywhere. (We've had that happen before. Apparently we can't be trusted with hot glass, lol.)
  • Counting Victories Challenge - Done
    • Kept calm when the glass broke, didn't get upset, was able to reassure the mate and look at it from a better point of view. That's a shit ton of progress there. Especially as we were both kinda tired.
