Personally, working out is what helps my mental issues. Regular scheduling is what keeps me on track. Recently I hit a block that had me stopping everything but the daily exercise. I found the break physically was exactly what I needed mentally.

On those days when I need to push through a bit more, I treat it as a challenge. I'll get through one part and take a short break, or I'll give a cat attention, or I'll play a short level of a game. Typically, by the time I'm halfway through I can push myself to finish.

I hope this helps just a little bit. And remember: we're always here, ready and willing to listen.

Good work and log everyday!
Congrats for the Fit December.

I don't have mental issues... I mean I don't know... But to manage my stress or nervous state I do a lot of self hypnosis it helps a lot (meditation helps also).

Have a good day, take care

How are you guys able to motivate yourselves to do a proper workout-- while dealing with some mental issues?
I try to plan it on a moment that is easiest for me. Having a workout buddy helped, to get started. And I don't aim for a 'proper workout' (because that discourages me, it feels like A LOT), but start with something small, like a challenge, and when that's done I feel like I could do some other small thing (a different challenge?), and so on. There are a lot of workouts with just 1 set. Or I do just 1 set of a workout.
