Made it to the 3:00 mark on the plank, but I think I'll put it on pause there. I'm still getting a decent core workout between push-ups and PPL, but I felt like I was finding excuses to delay other exercises simply because I didn't want to deal with the plank. That doesn't seem like a positive mindset, so I'll stick to things I look forward to, or at least can tolerate in smaller batches (like tomorrow's two sets of 2:00 planks).

I'm just uber impressed you can do a 3min plank! I can barely do 20 seconds without screaming for my mommy. 😉

It got late quickly. After a fairly calm few months, we got some snow this evening! Unfortunately, I missed our local birding club's meeting due to the weather, but there's a walk scheduled for Saturday so I should still be able to chat with people.

I certainly had to build up to it! I'd like to think I could keep going, but doing that on top of everything else created too much of a mental block. Day 27 of PPL has two 2:30 planks, so we'll see how I do after a few days away from planks.

We got snow last night. Between the temperature and the drifts, we were shoveling upwards of 2' of wet, heavy snow along our sidewalks and driveway. As a result, I'm delaying PPL for today. Everything else has been accomplished, but I shovel in the mornings around the time that I'd usually allocate for the program.

The day got away from me. We went on a bird walk for two hours through snowed-over trails, had lunch in a nearby town, did chores, and had a meeting for a volunteer position. Tomorrow should be lighter, which I will enjoy quite a bit.

@AgileGrrl Certainly nothing that's never been seen before, but I'm starting to think Pine Siskins are actively avoiding me! Still, we saw a lot of White-breasted Nuthatches, and it's hard to have a bad day when you get a chance to watch those silly little guys.

Another day got away from me! Spent a lot of the day doing meal prep in order to get back into a rhythm. Lunch this week will be tofu, veggie, and rice bowls, and dinner will be red lentil dal. I tried some new things for both; the rice also has mushroom duxelle mixed in, and the dal will be served alongside paneer kofta.

For the Control day, I did kind of a zig-zag motion. I started at the negative position, and while descending would periodically stop, hold for a few seconds, and then try to go up again. I'm still not at the point where I can consistently go through the full pull-up motion, so I think it'll be good to keep in mind that I can isolate smaller parts of the motions I need to do in order to get to consistent, full pull-ups.

I've been bothered by the PPL lagging behind. Today's core workout wasn't too draining, so I might see if there's time in the evening to also cover day 24. I've got a plan laid out for March, and it would be nice to start that on the first.

Well, I got this written while it's still Friday in my timezone. Had a bit of a miscommunication at the doctor's for one of my wife's appointments, and we ended up spending an hour in the waiting room for an appointment that's in... 4 weeks. It's a bit funny, but the day got shuffled around as a result.

We made it through February! I took today off from PPL, with the excuse that I'm getting both routines in sync. I'll start in on my March plan on Tuesday.

For today, I also spent some time cleaning bird feeders and setting up some new stuff. This felt like an endurance exercise, because the weather was cold and windy, and I was lugging around a bucket of water.

Went for a walk around a lake today, as the warmer morning weather lulled us into a false sense of security about the wind and temperature in the afternoon. Still, it was nice to be outside for a bit regardless!

February wasn't my best month, considering the dropped challenge and delays. However, I made it to the finish line at the very least! Starting tomorrow, I'll be using Recomp as a framework for the next ~6 weeks. I'm excited for the change of pace, and have already scoped out several of the workouts I'd like to try.

Starting Recomp today! When I was scoping this out earlier in the year, I had a few goals - namely, finding workouts that felt both engaging and difficult, without repeating anything throughout the six weeks. It's a testament to DAREBEE's offerings that I was able to find so many that fit this criteria!
However, the difficulty also means I want to temper other things I've planned. The push-up variants, for the time being, will be dropped down to two sets per day.

I was able to accomplish both parts of today's Recomp in the morning, but I feel future two-workout days will need to be split between AM and lunch. Almost achieved full EC on both, but I had to take a 10-count break before the final hold during Titan Core on each side. Overall, I really enjoyed both of these. It's nice to keep momentum up and move through the exercises, and they felt challenging despite not taking too long.

I'm a sucker for Tolkien-inspired things, and I enjoyed today's workout! It didn't feel as taxing as I initially thought, but that may have been due to my efforts over the past few months?

Our birding group met tonight, and we were treated to some great pictures and stories of hummingbird nests. They're absolutely adorable, and I've been grinning all evening while thinking about baby hummingbirds.

Shifting the order around a bit - we had storms last night, and our dog needed to be cuddled until about 4:00 AM. Seeing as I'm a bit allergic to her, five hours of sleepless cuddles have caused me to be a bit of a mess today. I'll pick it back up tomorrow!

I'm going to see if I can do a pull-up alongside other Touch The Bar work. When I start out, my elbows are already a little bit bent due to my height/the height of the bar. That changes after I drop all the way down, and my arms are fully outstretched. The next hurdle will be recovering from the fully-dropped position so I can work towards multiple pull-ups without resetting my grip.

To the chagrin of most people, I skipped Leg Day. I really enjoyed the Dumbbell Abs, and I think I'll try to work it in as a regular after recomp. However, it did leave me feeling a bit sore, and tomorrow's planned workout has some overlaps with the Leg Day exercises.

I'm not really vibing with Salvager. Each of the exercises on their own is fine, but I didn't really get into a good rhythm today. Additionally, I feel like my wrists aren't a fan of the plank walk-outs. I was primarily keeping my legs stationary, but maybe I was supposed to hold my palms against the ground and back up, instead? Either way, I made it through this week's MetCon workout!

I hope the week is wrapping up nicely for everybody!

Oof. Work caught up to me this week, and I found myself sitting at my desk through lunch and after hours trying to trace logic in some cobbled-together code (that, to be fair, I had a large part in writing). As a result, I wasn't very successful on Recomp days that required a large time investment, or for days that targeted multiple things. Today was a nice chance to relax and reset, but we also worked on moving a large wooden cat house down a flight of stairs. In addition to the mobility and routines, it was a successful exercise day!

I hope everybody's weekend is going well!
