Easy Cardio 16 [80 jacks]

Work wasn't that bad. I did have to explain everything to everyone (or at least it felt like I did), but I guess that the good thing is that M will have to explain less when he comes back in. Perks of working in the same office, I guess. (Same job, different teams, same building.)

Okay, I'll get caught back up on Fit December tomorrow. :tired:

I slept a lot today. Got news about M's dad. He's doing somewhat better and they are working on building up his arm strength with PT and OT so that he can go home. Though he is groggy and confused. They moved him to another part of the hospital and he is convinced that he is in a nursing home. He's really not actually better, as there is still dead muscle in his leg that they cannot excise, but hopefully he'll be able to go home soon.

Fit December 15 modified sit-up punches to crunches and doubled up on the sitting punches.

And that's it. I am icing my ankle. It felt fine up until I started working out. I tried taping it, but it really just needs some ice and rest.

So, real talk, I am super exhausted. I have LOVED the snowball fight this year. I'll keep on dodging until I go to sleep (which, honestly won't be too much longer). But I am too tired for a full workout tonight. So, I am going to stretch. My knee is a wee bit twingy, so I might need to tape up tomorrow.

+901 jumping jacks for the Snowball Fight today! 1387 overall. 716 (1019 total) in the steel toed boots. I had to be seriously dedicated today on the eating and drinking water between sets. And I did very, very good! Yesterday I was out of it on the way home (don't worry, M drove), but tonight I was clear headed and just fine.

I'm going to take care of myself for the rest of the evening and get back on the challenges and Fit December (+ others) tomorrow.

As for Secret Santa, I am probably going to put it off until Friday, unless I feel fine tomorrow. I am very excited to do my present and I might pick a few of the other people's presents to do to hide the one that I gifted.

'kay good night. :night:

Today's Wins: (68 days)
First Thing Water 23
Five Minute Plank 3
<Totals> 28
Fit December 20 modified situps to crunches. I just can't do the sit ups without something holding my feet, though I was getting a good amount of up off the mat with the high and knee crunches. This made me feel a little sick and knee crunches were the worst part.
Epic Five 20 made it epic and subbed in punches.
Easy Cardio 23 lil whimper ... my calves, so sore
Power Squats 15 the first set and a half weren't too bad...
Epic Arms 8 ADHD impulse control struck again and I did this in one go. Arms are ridiculously tired.
CoS 8 big nope. calf started seizing up almost immediately.

OK, I might have pushed a little much today. I didn't want to double up on Fit December (because I peeked and I saw that it was a fun cardio that I knew my calves were too sore for.), but I didn't want to let myself talk myself out of Easy Cardio and Power Squats. I didn't push past hurting, everything is just tired. I will get some good sleep and get to making cookies tomorrow. I'll find a way to fit my workout in early so that I am not doing at the end of the evening when my feet are tired from standing in the kitchen all day.

:toohot::tired::chuckle:

This Secret Santa gift was so much fun! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed elbow strikes. I'll definitely come back and do it again. I also surprised myself with how long I held that plank. That is the longest that I have held a plank yet!!! I had a great time with today's workouts.

Merry Christmas everyone! It was a good trip. We saw M's dad yesterday and he's doing a bit better. The color has really come back into his face, but he's not very alert and lost track of the conversation very easily. Saw my family today and there was no family drama (thank goodness!). But I am tired and I can feel shark week approaching. Spread out my workout a little bit. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. 'Cause I wanna do more Secret Santa stuff.

Congratulations on completing the Easy Cardio Challenge!

Fit December 24 Ugh, upward downward dog always makes my lower back unhappy.
Keep your core, quads, and hamstrings engaged in these moves to protect your lower back. Draw your navel in and up to support your up-dog and prevent you from dumping into your lower back. If your thighs are externally rotated in up dog (and in other backbends) this can cause compression in the lower back. Think about drawing your inner thighs towards one another to keep them neutral. (i.e: you want the front edge of your thighs to point straight ahead, not out to the sides at all)
