TREASURE HUNT 2025

You stumble upon a treasure map - five locked chests scattered across the landscape, each at a different distance.

Each chest can be unlocked, but only if enough adventurers reach it before the 72-hour window closes. The path you take is up to you - march steps or high knees will move you forward. Some chests are closer, others require more effort. You won’t know what’s inside until it opens.

Choose your chest wisely. Follow your gut, commit to the journey, and see if your steps lead to treasure.

How to Move

You can choose between:
High Knees - faster but more intense
March Steps - easier but slower

2 Steps = 2 High Knees (L+R) = 2 March Steps (L+R)

You can mix and match both however you like.​

FAQ

Can I choose more than one chest?
Nope! One path only. Choose wisely.

Can I change my mind and head toward a different chest?
Yes, you can! But you'll need to backtrack the same number of steps you’ve already taken before you can begin moving toward a new chest. You can change directions at any time - as long as there’s still time left on the clock.

Can my family or friends join too?
Yes! Just post their names when they complete their steps.​

Sunday 20/04: 120 steps (only March steps)
Monday 21/04: 330 steps (165 steps / high knees + 165 steps / march steps)
Tuesday 22/04: 150 steps (75 steps / high knees + 75 steps / march steps)

Total: 120 + 330 + 150 = 600 / 600 steps

My legs are burning,

Less than 13 hours, I had enough time to complete the challenge.
Tomorrow, I'll continue with Wednesday's Gladiator workout: Upper Body.

After a tasty lunch, I'm about to set out again. I am going to head to the Forest.

Come on friends! We still have plenty of time to unlock more chests! I believe in us! We need three more for the Mountain, seven more for the Forest (not counting me, I'll be there soon enough), and eleven for the Swamp.

Oh no, I totally didn't count the cool llama! Let me just recalculate the numbers... I was counting Chimchar since that was last person up since Neila's last post.

After hanging out at the forest for a bit, I pulled out my phone (don't ask where a wolf stores their phone. All RPG games just accept this). Once again, I call for backup and this time it was successful.

I backtrack to the meadow at the halfway point to meet a certain fox. Then 50 together with them back to the depths of the forest and glory.

(I figured I would do more exercise today. And convinced the mate to give it a go. We're 300 steps in, 200 more to be done this evening.)

It took me a little, but I have now reached the Forest!

I’ve enjoyed my day carousing in the forest, but as the sun began setting, I realized I was neglecting some duties. Using a communication spell, I reached out to Munchie to tell her of the grand quest.

Not only did she bravely make her way to the forest by herself, but she figured out that doing so in groups of 50 steps was the 50 times table and kept count all by herself.

I ran to celebrate her achievement as I heard her counting draw nearer. She’s getting to be so big! I brought her to the crowd to enjoy some s’mores and hot chocolate as we wait for the chests to open.

Keep on marching along, we can do this! If I've mathed right, we need 2 more people to the Mountain, 4 more to the Forest, and 9 to the Swamp. I believe in all of you! We can make this happen.

I have returned to the forest! And just behind me is the mate. I have been victorious in convincing them to join me in this quest. Though I did tell them that, no matter if we open the chest or not, we're having a dessert tree to reward ourselves, haha.

I am not trying to be daunting but...the swamp chest is not gonna be unlocked for sure

I mean we at the mountains still miss 3, so why don't the swamp people fill the gaps in the remaining chests and join in the loot? Better than staying in the swamp that is in noway will be filled right?

As I awoke on the final day, Munchie was bounding around with excitement. The glowing of the chest had woken Munchie up before me and she eagerly awaited its opening. As the lid rose she was nearly vibrating with excitement and squealed to see the delicious cookies in front of us.

While she wanted to dive headfirst into them, I was able to get some sensible breakfast into her before the sugar rush.

Around a mouthful of crumbs she calls out "Thank you Darebee!!!"

Thank you Neila, Damer, and all others involved, this was a wonderful community event!

We are currently using an ice cream with cookies as an award should Munchie have a good day with no visits to the office.
