Weekend Quests Are Back - The Guild Is Open for Business

Some of you remember the old weekend quests. Every weekend something went wrong somewhere and the whole community showed up to fix it. You loved them. We loved them. Then we had to count every single hit by hand and they quietly disappeared.

We fixed the counting. So quests are back and this time they are here to stay.

How quests work

The Hive is now a guild and you are its heroes. Every weekend a call for help arrives from somewhere in the realm. A lamp has gone out. A bridge won't stay up. Something very large has moved in and refuses to leave. The guild answers.

  • Every quest runs for 48 hours, from Saturday 10:00 to Monday 10:00 Athens time.
  • There is one target and we all fight together. No teams.
  • You do the exercise, log your reps in the quest box and watch the target go down live.
  • Every quest is its own story, so you can join any weekend. No homework needed.
  • We can lose. Some weekends we will. An easy win doesn't help anyone.
  • Your Class shows next to your name in the action log. It's just for fun and doesn't change how you play.
  • Entries over 500 are checked by a moderator before they count.

Each quest gets its own thread in the Quests forum, posted by our very own @Clerk. He is new. Please be nice to him.

Guild ranks

Every quest you take part in moves you up the guild ranks: Copper (1 quest), Iron (5), Bronze (10), Silver (25), Gold (50) and Mythril (100). Won or lost, every quest counts. Your rank badge appears on your profile by itself. Nothing to claim, nothing to forget.

The Guild Ledger

Every quest goes into the Guild Ledger for good: whether we won or lost, the hardest hitters and everyone who answered the call.

Quests and events

Our holiday events aren't going anywhere. Quests are the weekly adventures. Events are the big seasonal ones and they run for several days. When an event is on there is no quest that weekend. One battle at a time.

The first call for help arrives this Saturday. We'd love to see you at the guild hall. Bring your fists - the first job involves a lot of punching.

Hello, Clerk, nice meeting you :tears: Should be fun, thank you @neilarey and Dareteam!

ETA : and the Guild of course made me think of a certain merry gamers group!

This page says
Your Class shows next to your name in the action log. It's just for fun and doesn't change how you play.
However, the story on this weekend's quest says
The Shieldmaidens form a wall on the rocks to keep the waves off the stairs. The Mages, Sorceresses[,] and Warlocks climb to the top to get the lamp burning again. Everyone else has a serpent to move.
The story makes it sound as if I, a sorceress, am not needed for punching the big sea snek which is obviously not the case. A simple Ignis, a quick Incendio, even a well-aimed fire ball and the lamp will be burning again. That part doesn't need all of us. (Also I doubt that we'll need to keep the waves off the stairs at all.)
I know the story is just flavor text, just set-dressing, but please don't exclude some classes from the fun in it. (The part about the Shieldmaidens doesn't need to be there and after the snek moves we can still play "How many Mages, Sorceresses, and Warlocks does it take to change a light bulb turn on a lamp?")

Secondly, and perhaps more productively, can you include quest activity in our dashboard?
