Ugh! They're like the watched pot that never boils, aren't they? When you're standing underneath one, staring right at it, all of a sudden the batteries in every detector in the house are fine!Instead, I played "Which Smoke Detector is Beeping". Not a fan of that game, especially at 5:30am.
That is precisely what happened!! I knew it had to be the one in our room, but then they went completely quiet. But, I looked around and I found one that was flashing red instead of being green. So surely, it had to be that one. So I stood there, staring at it for what felt like half an hour. 5 minutes after I walked away, they finally beeped. Turns out I had two that were out. When you're standing underneath one, staring right at it, all of a sudden the batteries in every detector in the house are fine!
Thank you!! Now, if only I could figure out how to write for more than 1 month a year. It is super nice to write and provides a wonderful creative outlet for me.Great work on the writing!
Cheers for the fun, but hugs for the schedule disruption. Hope it will sort itself out quickly. On this day I went to D&D, but I had to do a bunch of extra driving. So, I woke up too late to workout before I left and I got back too late to workout, then stayed up too late because I was too caffeinated to sleep.
Sometimes when I struggle with that I look at what other authors did. It gives me ideas. I always have a few ebooks open from my favorites while I write.Okey dokey, had a little bit of a hard time with the words today, but I made it. Kinda wish I had some combat to write, that always goes fast. This one is much more talking and the characters figuring things out. Talking is good, but I am realizing that I need to spend more time describing places. Things aren't too bad, but I have a vision of what places look like, but I am not communicating it well. I'll have to work on that. But hey, I'm still chugging along.
Oops! I totally thought that is what you had written. And what I'd replied! Guess I was only half awake checking the Hive this morning!@Laura Rainbow Dragon Lol!! I meant to put 40k (I've now corrected it). But thank you!!
I typically despise deadlines, in fact, deadlines are why all my essays were all written last minute and in a single draft. But this is more of a challenge in my mind, so I am actually able to do it. This was my 6th time beating it and I've been doing it almost every year since 2010. And a lot of the time, I am doing word crawls, which feature a large variety of writing sprints and challenges (X words, X minutes, 1% of total word count, next 1k, next palindrome), so it keeps my ADHD brain engaged.I'd die if I tried that to be honest, though I almost did one year. I march on most days on my own, but story deadlines aren't good for me. It makes me want to shove it aside.
