"Speak softly, and carry a big stick."
I miss having an in-suite washer and dryer.
All my former roommates would have pets, I would come home one day and there would be cats, dogs, rabbits appearing.
One time I came home, no one else was around, I settled down at my PC, then after about an hour I turned around to get some cheese from the fridge, and there was a duck sitting in my doorway.

Don't worry guys, I always check that he is out before I start the machine. Today's Erebus story is "I want to help make bread, but keeping getting tossed off the counter." Yup, he was very curious. Eventually, he laid down where he could watch me, but I am pretty sure he was pouting. This is where I found him when I was all done.

Yeah, that ride this morning so did not happen. But I am rolling with the punches. Instead, I played "Which Smoke Detector is Beeping". Not a fan of that game, especially at 5:30am. Orion was also very concerned at that time that I was going to be late to work. And now Orion is laying across my left wrist while I am typing this up, telling me that it is way past bedtime. But I was getting extra words buddy!

Ugh! They're like the watched pot that never boils, aren't they? When you're standing underneath one, staring right at it, all of a sudden the batteries in every detector in the house are fine!

Great work on the writing!

That is precisely what happened!! I knew it had to be the one in our room, but then they went completely quiet. But, I looked around and I found one that was flashing red instead of being green. So surely, it had to be that one. So I stood there, staring at it for what felt like half an hour. 5 minutes after I walked away, they finally beeped. Turns out I had two that were out.
Great work on the writing!
Thank you!! :D Now, if only I could figure out how to write for more than 1 month a year. ;) It is super nice to write and provides a wonderful creative outlet for me.

Cheers for the fun, but hugs for the schedule disruption. Hope it will sort itself out quickly.

@Laura Rainbow Dragon D&D is always a schedule disruption, but I hadn't planned on M needing to make a stop at the town to the north of my destination, so it got a little extra out of wack.

Alright, busy day off today. Busy all around. I had a decent writing session today with 2886 words, and if I didn't have to go to work, I'd stay up late to write more. Feeling pretty good. My 2lbs are starting to feel a little light. I was thinking about doing some alternating bicep curls with the 5lb to see how they really feel, but it looks like I am doing push tomorrow and there were bicep curls and alternating bicep curls in there already. Also, doubling up on the PPL to catch up with the day of the month. Decided it was nicer to myself to pair the same type of day together. Let's just say it was an interesting decision.

Today was tough. Went to the next town over for the dentist, because we really like this dentist. I knew that I was getting some work done, but the milling machine went down while they were making the onlay, so I ended up with a crown instead and at the dentist for almost 4.5 hours. It really threw off my mojo for the day. And this evening, my body is just feeling tired and unsettled. Too much time sitting today. And my jaw hurts.

On this day, I woke up with a headache. The crowned tooth ached only a little bit, so I knew it was already on the mend. Took it easy and we started the 3-day detox that the doctor wants us to do to shock our systems. Honestly, the smoothies themselves really aren't that bad, except for the cayenne pepper in the dinner shake. I don't like how the roof of my mouth feels all spicy.

Doctored ordered detox day 2 - the animated corn dogs in the latest episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks looked really good. Directions say repeat favorite shake, but I will not be able to bring more than one with me, so I'm going to just bring some freeze-dried fruit with me and hope that is enough.

Okey dokey, had a little bit of a hard time with the words today, but I made it. Kinda wish I had some combat to write, that always goes fast. This one is much more talking and the characters figuring things out. Talking is good, but I am realizing that I need to spend more time describing places. Things aren't too bad, but I have a vision of what places look like, but I am not communicating it well. I'll have to work on that. But hey, I'm still chugging along.

Got through most of my programs and challenges today. Had to struggle a bit energy wise, but I think it'll be alright.

Sometimes when I struggle with that I look at what other authors did. It gives me ideas. I always have a few ebooks open from my favorites while I write.

I'm in the habit of describing everything in one gigantic paragraph.

Unless you want it that way, you can write the gigantic one and then cut and paste 2-3 sentences in appropriate places throughout the rest of the writing. (What I mean is, sometimes writing just description first without thinking about the rest helps).

@Nevetharine I am always reading. I think I've actually managed to get through 5 books this month, which is weird for me during NaNo. I picked up Robert Jordan for the first time two days ago and that alone felt like a class in how to describe things. I tend towards describing things that I think stand out or are integral to the story. But I have this one scene, the MC's childhood home that is where they are spending a significant amount of time and I haven't even expressed how the house feels, let alone that the whole place smells of pine and lavender because it is situated on the edge of a forest and they grow lavender on the grounds.

Lol, I didn't even know about the lavender until just now. :hehehe: I think I am going to spend some sprints doing world describing for a little today. I can figure out properly integrating it in when she first arrives back there later.

I can see what you mean about writing it out first. Thank you, I think I now have the right frame of mind that I needed. :mhearts:

Oh wow, food is like the best thing ever. Though, might have small smoothies a little more often, just to help get those fruit numbers a little better.
Results of smoothie detox - I'm down 5lbs. Now, I was also a little backed up the past few days, despite all the fiber and probiotics and stuff. So, going to keep eating good, try to get a proper workout in tomorrow, because I am still ridiculously fatigued today, and get some good sleep (hopefully).

Erebus has been a terror this evening. Hard to focus because he keeps trying to climb lamps and monitors. So, writing took a lot longer and I ended up getting really into a scene instead of writing scenery. Lol, I'm going to do it, I'm going to write it in. But tonight, I was gobbling up whatever words that I could to make par for the day. I'm now at 75% complete and I wrote past what felt like a natural ending a few days ago to get the MCs to pursue the BBEG that put them in the situation in the first place. So that has been weird to wrap my head around, but the more I write this section, the more I feel like my MCs are facing issues that I didn't know they had. Not sure exactly how long this is going to continue for, but I am pretty sure that I am on the right path story wise.

Okay, good night!! :night:

I also finally know what the ending kinda is, still not sure how they are getting there, but I think that they are figuring it out. And I finally gave it a title last night. Not my best naming work, but I am happy with it. Better than continuing to call it "Untitled". I didn't really want to complete NaNo with an untitled book. :clapclap:

:x: First Thing Water ==maintenance mode==
:x: Foot rolly thingy

Turkey Run - 5 basic burpees (10) - This wasn't such a good idea :imp:
Turkey Run - 120 slow butt kicks (10)

Cardio Blast 13 - lvl 1 That was enough slow butt kicks for me today. Didn't count these towards Turkey Run because I didn't think I could.
EoD - 10 jump squats

Shelved for today:
Push Pull Legs 8
Squats 21
Cardio 11
10,000 Punches 19

Evening:
:x: Some ball foot rolling
:x: Evening Foot stretches

Workout was late because we postponed D&D late today. Hips are done for the day, unsurprisingly tired. I'll get back to things tomorrow, though tomorrow's workout focus is to go for a bike ride. Already have it picked out, just got to do it.

So much writing today. I'm going to try to get a little more in before I go to bed. Edit: yup, got a few more.

Dear Santa!! :wand:
I look forward to whatever awesomeness that you come up with for me. I love all kinds of workouts, but I am currently dealing with plantar fasciitis so my foot doesn't do so well at certain exercises. For example, burpees, jumping jacks, and high knees. Which are fun, but not right now. I can march step and other kind of jack pretty good though!

Equipment I have:
Yoga mat
Yoga blocks
Yoga strap
Bolster
Stationary bike
Katana (and fencing swords & a dagger. I love my fencing dagger!)
A variety of dumbells

Thank you!!:mhearts:

Edited for equipment

Ugh, monthly inconvenience time. Fantastic. But hey, I'm still here and alive.

I feel bad for not doing more, but on the other hand, I'm having fun trying to catch turkeys. So, I'm going with fun for right now.

Santa present is going good already, just need to do some testing and figure out my narrative. Lol, I hope the Bee gets the joke I tried to make.

As for the writing, it is killing me to not finish NaNo tonight, but I don't have the spoons left so it feels like I am talking in circles a little. I am nearing the end game - the BBEG's minions are being removed from the board, so I know I'll pick up fresh tomorrow and finish strong. Then keep on going to finish this whole story. Then edit and add descriptives. See, I got an idea of a plan. It'll all be okay!

Whoot! I made it through NaNo!!! :twirl: But, I've got to see this through to the end. One of the minor characters just turned out to be something other than what I thought he was, but it makes perfect sense so I'm going to run with it. Doesn't change where I think my story is headed.

Totally did my workout at work today because (a) there was almost nobody at work (b) I was bored and (c) I didn't really want to go for a walk. Doing workout in shoes and jeans felt really strange though.

I think I'm going to restart PPL and just do it right, but probably in January. I was having fun with it, but in my misguided attempt to get caught up, I just made myself not want to do it. That and Squats challenge + leg days equals "I don't wanna". Lol. But I am going to instead just pick up some more dumbbell related cards instead.

@Laura Rainbow Dragon @Nevetharine @NancyTree @Fremen @Maegaranthelas Thank you!!

I'd die if I tried that to be honest, though I almost did one year. 😂 I march on most days on my own, but story deadlines aren't good for me. It makes me want to shove it aside.
I typically despise deadlines, in fact, deadlines are why all my essays were all written last minute and in a single draft. 😆 But this is more of a challenge in my mind, so I am actually able to do it. This was my 6th time beating it and I've been doing it almost every year since 2010. And a lot of the time, I am doing word crawls, which feature a large variety of writing sprints and challenges (X words, X minutes, 1% of total word count, next 1k, next palindrome), so it keeps my ADHD brain engaged.
