Friday 7.21.2023
1. 10 Jumping Jacks
2. Re: Center Challenge Day 22: 30 seconds plank hold. 3 sets. 30 seconds rest between sets. 1 minute stretch hold. Rating = 8.0.
3. Self-care Workout: Twice (18 min).

❤️SC: Rating = 8.0. Felt a little pull on my injury but my streak is still alive. Yay me.

Note: Today was going to be the day I left work on time and did my workouts. I even told Scott and my parents I would. Spoiler: No and no. I “only” worked an hour and 10 minutes late today. Then I did NOTHING but wasted time. Our walk was blown up by a thunderstorm. After wallowing in self-pity, I did what I do best and came up with a plan. I’m great at coming up with plans. It’s my follow through that sucks. Anyway, my new plan is Heather Robertson’s 6-week Low Impact Program (along with Darebee challenges, Daily Yoga, finishing 60 Days of Walking. This is my focus. I may add other things (and I will stay with my weekend morning boxing). I have to get back on track. As far as work goes, Scott said staying late isn’t going to protect me from decisions I can’t control. Which I know. So anyway...here’s to a plan I can hopefully stick to.

Thank you @JCU 💗

❤️ULC Day 23: Rating = 7.5. This is hard!
❤️ULC Day 24: Rating. = 7.0. The last 100 hurt.
❤️RCC Day 24: Rating = 8.0. On the first plank, I did the left side first to “test” the injury. Still there.
❤️HR: Rating = 7.5. Low impact doesn't mean easy. Modifications were required and I used really light weights. I could feel my injury a little bit here and there.
❤️60DoWP2: Rating = 7.5. The squat holds were rough after Heather's workout.
❤️60DoWP1: 1:48:54. Very warm for an evening walk.

Notes: Day 1 is done. I also got caught up on my challenges. 60DoW is kind of a mess. I did one of the part 1s I missed today and will do the other one on Sunday. I will probably tack the missed Day 34 walk on at the end.
Today went by too fast but at least I had a protein bar instead of cookies as a snack. 😺

Thank you @Tileenah @PetiteSheWolf 💗💗

Notes: Day 3. Work politics is a drag but I got a lot done and didn’t stay late. I really liked Heather’s workout today even though it started out with squats. The only time I felt a pull on my injury was during lunges. The ab exercises didn’t bother it all. 🤷‍♀️

Some people are just no darn good… to you Dawn.

I’m sorry that the injury is still there. Hopefully it heals soon. I can definitely see fighting spirit in you.

Balance is a general problem for me too…I have to use a chair a lot for my Darebee stuff. That’s just observing and mentioned to let you know you aren’t alone there.

❤️60DoWP: 1:12:36. We went out later because it was Friday. It was actually a nice evening with cool colors in the sky for sunset 🌄

Notes: Day 7. I finished Week One! I had a successful week as I completed every single planned workout (not just the Heather Robertson workouts). I also finished the 2 challenges. I found Upperbody Light pretty tough. Re: Center was a repeat. I enjoyed it much more the first time. I found the planks more difficult. I am probably weaker and weigh more. 🙀

When you're done with the Led Zeppelin book, you might want to consider hunting down "Riders on the Storm" by John Densmore, assuming you're interested in The Doors. His account of his time with the Doors was for me an eye-opener and I never knew how much Jim Morrison had to be proverbially babysat by his bandmates until I read it.

And yeah, that has been one of my pet peeves with HR. Because she doesn't talk live on camera, if you don't know the modifications you're up the creek. I'm not saying you shouldn't do her workouts -- to each their own -- but I think sometimes she makes her routines a lot harder than they need to be simply because she won't do what other professionals like Amy Schemper (BodyFit by Amy, if you're curious) will do without fail, and that's act as if they're filming a DVD live on camera and talk you through everything.

This conceded, you still do manage to do a lot more than I can pull out the hat. Keep it up!
