Thank you so much, Laura!

Saw the Kittens today.

I've been unwell (not seriously) for a few days, so took three days off. I'm heading back to health now so did:

DD, Hiit challenge, mini calisthenics to get me started again.

I will do a full day's schedule tomorrow.

Thank you PSW (and Madame Luna!). And thank you for the likes.

Somewhat back in form today.

Saturday is my long run day and I did 14.82km with 290 metres climb. Untimed. Somewhere between 1:30 and 2:00 I guess. I enjoyed it in lovely weather.

DD. HIIT Challenge. Mini calisthenics.

I was ill again after that run! Ha!

There are a lot of bugs around at the moment.

I did an easy combat workout last night, DD, mini calisthentics, 2 minute abs. I'm due to run today, but I'll see how I feel when the time comes.

Thank you Bees. x

Timed 5k yesterday at 25:48. An OK time. I'd like to be around 25 minutes consistently so I can try to get one of my 10ks under 50 minutes this year.

DD, 2-minute abs, plank hold challenge, mini calisthenics last night.

I did a very gentle "recovery run" today. 5.6km untimed. Hoping to do a HIIT later plus the usuals.

Thank you Bees. On we go. x

Not logging very well, but I am continuing as best as I can.

Another week of being ill. Not in a serious way, but it seems I get every cold and virus going. I missed playing football and a couple of runs as a result. I don't think I've had Covid (though who really knows!), so I don't know about any long-term effects on my immune system. I work from home and I'm quite isolated, but my partner goes away and works in very crowded public spaces, so I think I'm just catching whatever she brings back. And, it's just bad luck.

None of these illnesses have been serious, they're just annoying.

I've kept up most of my routine though. I completed 2 minute abs programme. I'm doing the Arcade challenge as it fits my need better than the current holds one. And, I should be back running tomorrow in preparation for my first 10k race the weekend after.

I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you Bees. x

Thank you Laura. Thank you Agile!

Thank you likers.

I did my 10k yesterday and ran 49:52, which is either my best or second best time ever! (I've done under 50 minutes twice now I think.) It was a nice flat course with plenty of space. My next one is in four weeks.

Today, is a rest and recovery day. I might try the DD and see if I can get back onto my general programme tomorrow.

Thank you Dawn, Laura, PSW, aku-chan and likers.

Sort of a rest day yesterday. I played soccer in the evening. It was my first game for a while and I enjoyed it. It's one of my very few social interractions so I want to make the most of it.

Today, I felt quite lively so tried to do a full day's programme in my ideal world.

That was:

Mobility routine from Strongevity (short stretching routine).
DD - hopping!
Arcade challenge - 200 points via more hopping.
2 - minutes abs, day 1. (I decided to run through this again, as it's a relatively easy thing I can add to my daily routine.)
Combat day. Montrait Muay Thai 90-day challenge part 1, week 1. Again, an old favourite and still at the edge of my fitness capabilities.
Daily calisthenics - 30 press ups, 75 squats, 30 table rows.

My challenge at the moment is just to do something every day.

Still fairly active. Still doing something every day, or close to it.

Not logging very much. That's fine. I'm very much trying to avoid falling into demotivating traps - taking on too much largely.

I'm running three times a week. Still doing my daily calisthenics routine, now up to 3 X (12 push ups, 30 squats, 11 table rows), generally do the DD, slowly going back through 2-minute abs, usually doing what's scheduled in the Fighter training plan, and doing this month's challenge.

I hope everyone is doing well. x

Happy sobriety anniversary @colin , keep up the good work, Welsh Dragon!

Thank you everyone!

Yes. Sober anniversary rather than birthday. 12 years alcohol free.

My main fitness thing was my second half marathon that I got my first under 2 hours finish in, 1 57.

Happy doing lots of running and walking. Considering adding some extras too

Hey!

Thank you for the congratulations.

I'm doing fine. Still mainly focused around running. I've tried some rucking (walking with a weighted ruck sack), and done some other bits and pieces, mainly related to or designed to be supportive of running.

I've got a 10k on September 6 that I'd like to do quickly. I'm going to try to design a plan for that. And to have a more structured exercise plan that supports my problems with mental health and neurodiversity.

That means I will try to post. Also because I miss being here, I value your community, and I hope to give some of that back to you.

On we go!

Have good days, Bees.

Thank you Nancy. Thank you Wolfie. Thank you likers!

Saturday I did my long run, which was 15.28km with a 290m climb. I don't time these, it probably took around 1.5 to 2 hours. I did EotD too, and I can't remember what it was!

Yesterday I did the EotD and the Montrait Muay Thai 90-day challenge week 1, part 1. I've done this lots of times. It's my favourite "mixed" work out and it's still at the edge of my capabilities. I'm hoping to work through this. (I remember @Damer saw it once and said he'd do an analysis of the idea of the "fat burning" workout off the back of it!)

Today, I've done a short run, 4.5km with a 54m climb. I didn't time it, but this is my "intervals" (maybe! ha!) run. Basically, I do a sort of fartlek thing and try to sprint up all the hills on the run.

I did a core workout for runners, from YouTube:

And EotD.

Tonight, I'll play football.

Thank you, Bees!

On we go. x

:strong::strong::strong:

Thank you Damer.

I've carried on.

Today was my long run, and I did 16.35km with 310m vertical.

The August challenge is well timed for me, so I hope to do that.

I've done EotD every day.

Will probably have a think about how, what, and if to plan, with competitive (!Ha! Not really!) races as the main bones of it.

On we go. Thank you Bees. x

Hey hey everyone!

Back, and hoping to be more regular.

As I try to be quite positive here I'll just do a brief recap of...., I've had a lot going on, that included a catastrophic relapse in my sobriety, starting smoking again, some issues with painkillers, and... I don't know really, some sort of mini breakdown maybe. I've got a lot of unresolved pain and trauma inside me I think.

I'm coming out of that now. I haven't drunk for five days. I'm still smoking but stopping that will happen. I've started seeing a counsellor to try to sort some stuff out.

And I want to try to exercise again.

I still walked a bit. And I did the Cardiff 10k. I was really pleased about that, I did it in 52:11, which is really my slowest for a long time, but I had a great time.

I'm sure I'll waffle on about other stuff in time, but I dragged myself into "doing something", in the form of:

And, yesterday, I did Day 1 of Boot Camp programme (at level 1), Exercise of the Day, and 1 round through rebounding workout.

I feel very positive about things now, and I have a 30 day window where I think I can workout every day. I'd like to do an hour every day if I can. And I'd like to somewhat start to transform myself physically. Let's see.

I want to start running again too. I have signed up for a half-marathon in April and my usual set of 10ks. It's not mad to try to get some better times next year. For the moment, I just want to get out and get running again, and, over the autumn and winter my aim is to build up as much mileage as I can.

Thank you, Bees. Good to be back, again. (Recurring patterns?! No! I can't see any recurring patterns here!)

@colin we all (without exception) struggle with the past (our own mistakes, the mistakes other made that affected us) and working gradually through it can help. But this is what I will say that comes from direct experience helping others through it. You're doing too much. On a good day that's not an issue but you haven't planned for the bad days and these are the ones that break you. You need to have a fall-back plan for those days so you don't quit. And you need to aim to exercise consistently as you primary goal - even on days when everything is black around you and you just want to disappear. And what you do on those days is key to maintaining the momentum. It doesn't have to be much but it has to be something.

I truly hope this helps.

I appreciate that Damer. I do have a "just do something" backup in my head, and that includes just getting out for a walk.
