Day 61
View attachment 8983
Second day at the agility trial had almost the same amount of steps except this time I ran more than I walked. 😉 The courses were huge. My pup won a bit of money, which in agility is a rare thing since this is just an amateur sport and usually one only gets a ribbon depending on a few factors. Got home a bit earlier and tackled my programs again making it through the 3rd level on all of them except Valkyrie. I was plumb exhausted by the time I got to that one, so did just level one and considered that a win.
Onwards & upwards!:vibes:

What’s Syn’r going to do with her earnings?? T-bone steak, pup-cup stand for her and her neighbourhood pals, Petflix (24/7 squirrel watching), invest in her pawtfolio? (Never mind me, I’m having too much fun here) 🤣

Seriously, congrats on the hard work!! I watched the video, it’s intense!! 🎉😎

@THew8 Agree. As long as I keep moving I consider that progress no matter how small it might be. Better than not doing anything at all. 😉

You can see my pups doing agility on my YouTube channel at
https://youtube.com/@sixty9design?si=91fZRKyZDZj1OYkq
There is a bunch of agility vids of my current competition dog along with my previous ones. 😊

How cool is that!! 😎 How did you get into doing agility training?

She basically paid for those two runs with an extra $4.60 towards a bully club when I next head into town. 😉 Now the 8 other runs... I was stuck paying for those. 🤣

Competing and medalling at Worlds was a very intense experience with my previous dogs, but thankfully, competing locally is much more relaxing regardless of what your goals are. Regionals is a bit nerve racking because it is a qualifier to compete at Nationals, so if your dog has an off weekend you can be screwed if you don't earn enough points. Nationals is obviously more intense if you really want to win or make the world team, which I do usually, but after doing both so many times with my other pups it has started to lose its sheen. Been there done that, let's just have fun now instead. 😉

How cool is that!! 😎 How did you get into doing agility training?

My first BC, Abbi, was an all work/no play kinda gal who meeded more from me then what she was already getting. I discovered agility one day on the same grounds as a horse show I was at, asked some of the competitors questions about it, found out about classes for her, started competing 6mths later and the rest, they say, is history. 23 years later and I am still training/teaching/competing/judging in it. 😎 That then led to other dog sports and my world is now dogs, dogs, dogs. Pathetic, I know. LOL

True. You should definitely throw in a cat. Keep those dogs in line! :kittens:
LOL! I have my neighbours' cats coming onto the acreage to keep the voles/mice at bay and they definitely give the dogs what for. I think mine would have a coronary if I got a cat. 😉

Day 62
d62.png
Back to my regularly scheduled P&C broadcasting. Finished some challenges last night that I don't list because they are wellness, not exercise, specific. Went to get the badges (because I'm a self-confessed badge whore 🤣) and discovered that there is one for 60 day streak. Say what? Passed that a couple of days ago, so I snatched that badge right up, gave myself a hug and pat on the back (after restarting the daily hug challenge 😉), and earmarked when I'll hit 100 days down the road. After joining the hive I solemnly swore that I am up to exercising every day regardless of where I am or how tired I am, and by hook or by crook, I will make it so because the force is with this bee.

Oh, if you caught all of the references in my final sentence, you are my people! 🤓

Day 63
d63.png

Spent the day dealing with pumps and hoses again as the temperature jumped up 12°C and things started remelting. This time the sump hole filled to the top by the time I got them set up, the melt was happening that quickly. Everything is still all white around here, just dirty white from the grit/leaves/bark/branches that came down upon it a little while ago when we had 90km/h winds. Cleaned up most of the fallen debris in the front, now that it was warm enough, and will tackle the back when the snow melts down some more.

It's funny how before winter hits, when it starts to drop down to the teens and single digits, one feels cold and wishes for summer-like temperatures again. By the time winter is nearing its end, the teens feel wonderfully warm. 🤯 It was 13° and my body said, "it's t-shirt weather, baby!", so there I was in my capris and a tshirt, trudging around in the foot deep snow doing yardwork and it was glorious. 😆

I had to drop one of my cardio challenges because it is way more intense than I realised when I started it. I am already doing a ton of exercises between all of my P&Cs, so it's not a huge loss. I'll go back and start it over one day when I don't have as much on my plate.
:cape:Onwards & upwards, baby!:vibes:

Having lived in the northeast of Canada until 2008, I hear ya. As soon as it hit double digits in Celsius it was shorts and T-shirt time! 😎

Glad you’ve got the sump pump to stay ahead of the melt. At this time of the year you just want it GONE! 🚫❄️

Re dropping a cardio challenge, don’t sweat it. By the look of your dance card there, you’ve got PLENTY to keep you busy!! 👊🏼

Are you still having those novel feelings of your clothes fitting better? I’m loving how the program is making me feel on multiple levels! 🤩

Tossed you sub! Your channel will be great when I need a little joy in my life. Thanks for sharing!

It is nice to be able to fit into certain clothes now that I wouldn't wear last year because they were just too tight. Darebee for the win! I really hope I can lose more inches, so I can fit into my summer gear a bit better. Weight, I'm not as stuck on about. Having Bertha shrink is the big one. 😉 That biotch needs to go!! 😂

🚨 WEEK EIGHT DONE! 🚨

W9.png

I can't believe I have finished 8 straight weeks of working out. 😲 Go me! Top 5 exercises for this cycle were walking steps (naturally), marching steps, step jacks (I am sensing a trend here 😂), punches, and butt kicks. Didn't do as many reps of weight training due to 2/7 days being agility trials days and I can live with that. 😉 Week nine will involve some P&Cs coming to fruition so once again, time to research which ones will join the roster. So exciting.

Day 64
d64.png
Lost another client to AI today :plan:, so a bit depressed as my monetary situation gets more and more fraught. Still did my monthly donation to Darebee though because I am so appreciative of the resource they have created. Wish I could donate more but my budget is getting tighter and tighter these days like so many. Thankfully, I am running an agility trial this weekend to take my mind off of things. That means my dogs will get to run for free and I will get paid for judging some rounds. Even though they will be long 15+hr days, my exercise streak will stay strong since I am sure to put 15-20k steps on each day intermingled with 1min sprints when running the dogs. That counts, right? 😆

Damn skippy it counts!!! 😎

And sorry about losing a client to AI. I want to kick their butt on your behalf! 👊🏼 If it makes you feel any better, having a rough, mutinous day on the boat. Mostly just really tired and missing my bed.

But tomorrow is a new day! And to quote someone who kicks ass and takes names: Onwards and upwards!

I hope today was a better day for you. 💗 Mutinous days are not fun regardless if one is stuck on a boat or not.

Do you guys ever go to a hotel/airbnb for a single night for a change on any of your island stops? Just to have a break from the boat. 😊

Day 65
d65.png
Spent half the day working on a new logo for a client and came up with nothing I liked, so worked out instead. 😆 At least working through all of my P&Cs gives me some sense of achievement, if nothing else does that day. 😉

In the three seasons cruising I think we’ve only done that once for a couple of days in Puerto Rico and that was bc we had family visiting from Canada. We stayed in an Airbnb together for two nights, to explore San Juan.

We try to do this pretty frugally - so no marinas, hotels, eating a lot of our meals on board, and often prefer the more local spots (less touristy) when we do eat out.

But yes, a hotel sounds DIVINE!! ✨

Day 66
d66.png
Spent the whole day working on the computer designing agility courses, scheduling running orders for the trial this weekend, getting all of my trial paperwork printed & sorted, taking the judge out to dinner, and packing the car. By the time I was done, it was midnight, and I had a 4.3o am alarm set, so powered through some of the quicker challenges before heading off to bed. Gotta keep that streak going, baby!!
:tude:

Day 67

Did no P&Cs today as the whole day was devoted to running, competing, and judging an agility trial after only 1.5hrs sleep last night. I did over 23,000 steps today and ran both dogs. My oldest, a Papillon turning 15yrs in a few months, is so close to retiring, yet still wants to play, so I am selective what types of courses he competes on. Today he ran four times and qualified four times. Better than my youngin' too. So very proud of my grumpy old man. He still rocks my world. 💗
Heading off to bed now because I am plumb pooped. :night:

Agility trial woes: Oh, and my young BC had explosive diarrhea throughout the day, so fun times with that. 🤢 Yes, I am being facetious.

Oh man, sounds like quite the day!! 😅
So little sleep, so many steps, the BCs being awesome, then the explosive diarrhea, multiple times 🫠 - which is hard enough to SPELL, never mind deal with!! Poor puppers, poor you!

Hope today was EASY PEASY for you ALL!!
:lovely:

Day 68

Another agility day. Got a bit more sleep Saturday night 🎉, so I was a better handler for my pups. Courses were more technical on the 2nd day. That meant I only ran my old man a couple of times and ran my youngin' a few more than normal, which wasn't a bad thing. We celebrated the veteran dogs past and present with a celebration, award ceremonies, and many tears shed. 🥹 Unfortunately, my watch battery died half way through the day after recording 11K steps. 😞 Total bummer. I'm guessing I did almost as many as the day before, if not more, since I ran more courses, but we'll never know. Either way, by the time the last dog ran (mine), we packed the equipment up, I packed up all of my trial and dog gear, and made my way home, it was late. Hence, no P&Cs done, but at least I still maintained my exercise streak between sprinting next to my two pups and moving heavy equipment. 😉

What another very full day with so much activity!

Your new “trainee” seems very enthusiastic! 🤣

How special that you celebrated the veteran pups past and present 😭💗

No mention of the “explosive d” hope that means everything was a-ok on that front! 👌🏼😉

Rodrigo is going to be a superstar. :cape: He's taken to it like a duck to water. 😉

Explosive D started to dissipate after 3 meals of oatmeal only and now she's back on kibble with a relatively settled digestive system. Thank gawd! This was a first for her and thankfully, it didn't affect her energy at all. Just made her butt stinky. 🤭

Day 69
d69.png
My sexy streak day 😏 was a busy one with lots of computer time to finish off trial paperwork before submission to the organisation we run under, cleaning the dog run before the next big snowfall, housework, and working on courses for my next judging assignment. I was planning on only doing my programs, because I am still recovering from the weekend's exertion, but once I got going, my mind and body got into the groove, and we just kept going until everything was finished. 😲 I now have to find 4 new challenges to replace the ones that are done. 🤔 First world problems, I know. 😂

My stamina has definitely increased significantly since starting my Darebee journey and I know I am getting stronger too. I can stand up from a sit on the ground with only leg power and no aid from anyting else. Haven't been able to do that since before my knee blew out. I also know that Bertha is slowly but surely melting away like the wicked witch of the west because the squeeze test is telling me so. 😉 Can't wait for the time when I can say "Buh-bye biotch! It was nice knowing ya." 😘🖕

Day 70
d70.png
Thanks @Laura Rainbow Dragon, @CODawn, @TopNotch, & @Fremen for the congrats. 💗 Means a lot to me.

Spent the day designing agility courses and a client's logo, shovelling snow, researching a new gas provider before my current contract expires, and agonising over what Darebee challenges to take up next. 😉 Finished another challenge and 2 programs, so now I have three more to pick to add to yesterday's choices. Spellbound for sure and Totals maybe... not sure yet. Any suggestions or raves about a particular program you liked, I'm all 👂👂👂.

Oh, I had an epiphany (thanks to a Darebee challenge) involving distance running, something I have never been able to do. Sprinting was my dealio, hence why dog agility was a natural fit for me. I have a theory and I'm going to test it out once it gets nicer to see if it works. Just need the snow to stop falling.
Any time would be great, Mother Nature.:grumpy:

Hmm 🤔 I can’t wait to hear more!!

Oh, and I just finished day 16 of Splits Challenge -
340 leg raises
5min40sec
side splits

If you want to do leg raises until they feel like they’re going to catch 🔥 then please, join me in the fun! 😅

Hmm 🤔 I can’t wait to hear more!!

I "bounce" around the house for a lot of workouts (like Arcade) and turned those bounces into small jogging in-place steps for my step counts. I've built up stamina to do them for a good length of time, and now I think I can, when it's safe to do it outside, convert those small jogging steps into bigger ones to become a rolling shamble aka proper jog. 😂 Once I can do that for a length of time that covers 1 or more kms then I can increase my stride and frequency of steps until I am "running".

Even if I never make it to the running stage and end up just being a 'jogger' that will be a huge win because I have never been able to run longer than 200-300m. I mainly have fast twitch muscles but figured I could somehow develop my fast-twitch fibers to be more oxidative (acting more like slow-twitch) and that should let me run longer than a few hundred metres. It's a theory to be tested when the snow melts.

If you want to do leg raises until they feel like they’re going to catch 🔥 then please, join me in the fun! 😅

Oh yeah, that totally sounds like a blast! 🤣🤣

Day 71
d71.png
Thanks for the 'grats, @TopNotch, @Fremen, @Anek, and @Princess Fancy. 😘

Another long day on the computer with a quick trip into town to get a prescription filled (hello HRT!!) before back on the computer for the rest of the evening. Didn't want to be up until 3am finishing all of my P&Cs, so focused on my programs instead, including the newest one I am stoked about - Spellbound, and made it to bed at a relatively early time of 1.3o am. 😂

Finished Cardio Blast and thought I'd replace it with another cardio program but decided I'm adding Totals instead. I seriously thought about going down to 5 programs but 7 is more visually balanced when I look at my spreadsheet. Knowing the cognitive psychology behind the 3-5-7 design rule is helping to keep me motivated, so 7 it is. 🤘😎

Found a natural gas provider for my heating that goes by a flat monthly rate based on one's annual GJs. I fall into the 2nd lowest tier, so locked myself into a 2 year plan of $55/mth, which will save me 570 bucks this year compared to staying in my current plan.

Score!! :worried: (stinky armpit celebration - LOL)

Onwards & upwards, baby!:vibes:

Day 72
d72.png
Another badge day to keep the motiviation up. 💗 Thank you, @CODawn, @TopNotch, @Anek, & @Fremen for yesterday's 'grats. You guys are awesome!!

I did end up replacing one of my finished programs with another cardio specific one called GO! It looks like a really fun concept. We'll see if my body agrees in a few days. 😆 With the 3 new programs, I think I have a nice all around mix of workouts between all of them to keep it interesting. The only thing really missing is a weight specific workout, so I'll be doing a random dumbbell/kettleball each day from those that are available. A few look really intense and above my pay grade, so I hope they don't get picked with the randomiser I am using. 😄🤞 Since I already had an extensive list of challenges lined up to replace finished ones, I don't have to agonise over them for a good long while. 😉

Another agility weekend coming up, but this time with me as only a competitor to just focus on my pup. Alas, it's mixed in with a 3hr course design zoom seminar I have to attend Saturday morning. Thank gawd for my phone's hotspot. Horse arenas don't tend to have wifi here and most agility trials in winter are in agriplex's or private horse facilities. Just means I'll have to lug my gaming laptop, portable power station, headphones, etc on top of the trial gear that one uses at these events. I'm very good an tetrising the shyte out of my little blue beast, so what's a few more things added to the mix. 🤣 It'll just be a hectic morning juggling running my pup, fulfilling my volunteer duties, and being an active participant (as much as possible) in the seminar. No rest for the wicked it seems (and I am very wicked 😝). LOL
Onwards & upwards, baby!:vibes:
