AM- awake at 8:30am (PST) after a rough night. It looks good on paper, tho, cuz I went to bed at my usual 10:30pm. But, doggo woke me up “quietly licking” himself in his bed at the foot of my bed. I struggled to block it out, even turning up my white noise, for half an hour. Then got him up to go outside, thinking maybe he needed to go. Once back inside, he went to his crate (also in our room), and HE went to sleep. However, I did not. My mind was full on, so I spent well over an hour trying to breathe, toss, turn, lay still, turn off my mind before finally sleeping again. At least I stayed in bed, avoiding eating, drinking or otherwise waking up my body. So, my horizontal time was prolly 10 hours in total. But actual sleep? Chopped up and restless🥺🛌💤

I saw my (deceased) mom + stepdad, as younger than my current age! Omg, it was so good to see them🥰. My uncle was the one in charge of construction of this house. In real life, he is 85+ now, but in the dream, he was young enough to be managing this project….

I find it interesting how you dream about people you know/knew. One recent dream I had, I was watching the Pope fry eggs. He cracked those eggs in a very odd way...
Funny…. Yeah, usually, there are family folks that have died that appear in my dreams.
Last night, however, I was dreaming that I was starting at a new high school. At my CURRENT age! I knew NO one, and there was NO one to help me. This was my typical sort of anxiety dream. Except I didn’t actually FEEL anxious in the dream. I was just alone among strangers. Happens all the time in adult life. But, when I was a kid, and was truly and constantly moving, I was a nervous wreck.🥴

Last night, however, I was dreaming that I was starting at a new high school. At my CURRENT age! I knew NO one, and there was NO one to help me. This was my typical sort of anxiety dream.
I once had one of those dreams when you find out you've got an exam but you've no idea what it's about. I looked at the group of worried people with me and said, "Sod it, let's go have lunch". Guess I don't really stress much...

I have not experienced that problem for many decades, but my husb has now developed psoriasis on his feet from the last 3 years of dealing with his mother. My feet *only* sweat, as an adult, which is plenty wretched, but at least they are intact🫣🦶🐾

12 years ago, my oldest brother hung himself from his back porch rafter🪢 This year I feel less immobilized by the memory than in any previous year. I spent last week working out the emotional clogs remaining from the week BEFORE his death. As a result, today can be just a normal weekday for me, yay🎉

AM- awakened at 5:30am (PST) by Canoe pawing at my side of the bed. He was able to comply and go to his own bed. I went back to sleep for an hour and got up for the day at 6:45 after, 8+ hours of sleep.🛌💤🥱.

Dream recall: remember dreaming about my daughter, granddaughter, a *known* cousin and a cousin I don’t recognize. We were looking in all the storage areas and boxes in a huge house that was “ours,” (but which is not actually ours in real life), and pulling out things like baby shoes, and small personal mementos. But, not finding whatever we were actually looking for….🤷🏼‍♀️

Dream recall: I was on a road trip with my (deceased) stepdad, my (deceased) doggo Boo, and another gal, younger, blurred face, not sure if she was my kid, my grand kid, or a childhood friend, or *anyone* I actually know. We were stopped at what we used to call a greasy spoon cafe, to eat. There was a lot of fuss about driving the car, and Boo’s need to get out. While a worker did something with the car, Boo got out and pooped in front of the restroom door. The worker cleaned it up and told me when I came out to get my phone/wallet to pay for food. I remember commenting on how the place *was* truly a greasy spoon to my stepdad. We wandered around quite a bit, in and out *looking for something.* Thereafter, it’s quite hazy….😵‍💫

AM- awake at 7:20am (PST) after nine hours of horizontal time. My sleep was very broken and restless. The wind blew a gale most of the night, crashing against the house. The doggo got me up at 1:15am to go outside again. It was a struggle to sleep at all….😮‍💨💤🛌

AM- awakened at 6:15am (PST) by Canoe, who was happy with pets and went back to bed. I however was still finishing up a dream and dozed some more until finally getting up at 6:45. That was 8ish hours of sleep.💤🛌😏
Dream recall: I was working on some detective project with two gals I don’t know, one older, one younger than me, and a grumpy older man that was not happy about the younger gal being involved. She was doing the best work, tho, so we told the dude to bugger off so she could help. Then I was futzing around trying to get her cuffs buttoned up (!) while telling her to “get this job done, find this thing” before the man came back. We were in an apartment I had lived in after my first divorce in my early 20’s, backed up against a flooding creek, with an out house (latrine) outside, up against a rock wall beside the creek. My daughter showed up, grown as she is now, informing me she LIVES THERE, now. I started, then, futzing around about the outhouse position, so it would “drain”…? I don’t know what that was about.. sometimes the details I get caught up in dreams are SO weird🤔.

AM- awakened in the wee hours by high winds crashing into the house. It took 2 hours for me to get back to a light sleep. Then at 6, Canoe had his paw up by my head. I held him for a minute and he went back to bed. I didn’t wake up again until 8:15am (PST), after 10 hours of horizontal time….🛌🫤
Dream recall: I was in a camp-like environment, “testing” a piece of athletic equipment, on my head, and wired to the gear set up next to a pond (!), and it failed, and I was being shamed about my “failure” to set it up correctly, by a friend of my daughter’s.

What are your thoughts? I read it over a decade ago, but I remember being very emotionally affected by it.
Well, I am only about a quarter of the way through it (I’m a slow reader🥴). As I read the different perspectives of the daughters, I’d say I am entertained, more than anything, currently. My teenaged granddaughter was reading it in her language arts (do they still call it that?) class, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I do plan to finish it, however slow I am. I’ll say more at that time.🤔😬
