MONDAY 8 JANUARY 2024
~sick day~

:v: Begin each day with a hug
:v: Counting Blessings
:v: Morning Meditation

No early morning workout, because my head felt like concrete.

  • Did some gentle yoga while grandson took his nap; then i took a nap as well

  • Challenge: 1 Minute Plank day 30 ~done, but not claiming the badge as i will be restarting it with elbow planks (i had thought that elbow planks were supposed to be easier, but when i attempted to do elbow plank arm raises last friday i could do only a few)
  • Kanary 1 set substituted Squat Punches for lunge punches ~i had no oomph; felt like i was moving in quicksand
  • Program: Ironheart day 7; 10lb dbs for everything except lateral raises (5lb)
  • 1.17 mile walk w/video
  • Program: 60 Days of HIIT day 7; level III
:x: Journal
:x: Silent Meditation
:v: End each day with a hug

Congratulations on completing the 1 Minute Plank Challenge @Mamatigerj ! On hands or forearms, planking every day for a month is no small feat!

Elbow planks are easier on the wrists than high planks, of course. Elbow planks are also more stable due to the larger surface area you have on the floor. But you're in a shallower incline in an elbow plank, which affects your weight distribution. In the high plank, you're doing more proprioceptive work to maintain the position. But in the low plank, you're bearing more weight on your shoulders. When you lift one arm, both of these differences get exaggerated.

I love hiking videos that go through wilderness areas. They do make using machines a lot more fun.

:v: Begin each day with a hug

This was a rough day. I felt exhausted and overwhelmed all day; my IBS was bothering me; my joints were bothering me; seasonal depression was bothering me. By the evening i was in a full IBS flare-up. Before things got really bad, i did manage a bit of exercise.

This day was better. IBS symptoms subsided, thankfully, but i was just exhausted and had no appetite. Slept on & off most of the day, but was able to do enough exercise to keep my streak.

Felt mostly human again, but decided not to push things and kept to my planned rest day schedule. Also, got a bit of decluttering and organizing done, which helped my mood, and i spent some extended time journaling, specifically dealing with S.A.D.
