Today I tested a quick alternative to strength training at the gym for when I don't have the time or desire: Full Swing Workout it only lasts 15 minutes in total and is far from easy depending on the weight chosen :LOL:
I did the first set with the 20kg kettlebell but then I switched to the 16kg one which was more appropriate, the swing is a bit light but for the other two exercises the weight is fine and I like using just one kettlebell :LOL:
Even with all the warm ups, mobility and stretching, the whole workout lasts 30 min, a more than reasonable amount of time.
I have to try too: Battle Maiden Workout.

I went to the gym last night and it was dark... apparently the power had been out for a couple of hours. I said goodbye to those who were there, had a chat and then I was going home when the power came back on the exit door :LOL:

We agreed with the others that our minds were already in slippers anyway and so we did a quiet workout :LOL:

Today I tried Battle Maiden Workout, I thought it would last longer but instead it lasts just over 15 minutes, practically like Full Swing Workout.
They're a great quick alternative for on-the-fly strength training :)

Today I really had fun with a combat workout :)
I modified it slightly:
- for the punches I alternated the guards with jab-jab-cross-hook-uppercut sequences
- I did two types of knee strikes, frontal and lateral
- and I replaced the final punches with elbow strikes, circular and from the bottom up
this way I have the complete package of basic Muay Thai strikes in one quick workout :LOL:
There is no comparison to how good I feel after a fight moves workout compared to with weights, I feel in full control of my body, almost more energetic than tired.
In this next month I will give up the morning workout in the gym and replace them with Darebee's kettlebell workout and combat workout.
I have a reasonable suspicion that I will have more fun while training just as well :LOL:

I'm satisfied, despite this week's mess and the fact that I didn't go to the gym in the morning I still managed to do two strength workouts with kettlebells and two combat workouts :)
We have two winners for quick workouts,
strength (kettlebell): Full Swing Workout (15 min)
combat: Sweeper Workout (20 min)
I think I'll stick with this type of training for a while :LOL:

Today I tried one of the two workouts with kettlebells (Icon Workout) for my strength training, it's faster than I thought, it lasts a total of 20 minutes with 30 sec rest both between sets and between exercises.
The 20kg kettlebell is a good weight, right for goblet squats but a little light for the rest but I love using just one kettlebell too much :LOL:
Once I get the hang of it I'll do some experiments with the repetitions and then I'll try to get to using the 24kg kettlebell, which is the last one I have available at home.
Yes... playing with kettlebells is always fun, much more than with weights :LOL:

Today I took it easy as an active recovery day :)
Last night at the end of Muay Thai I slightly strained my right calf, so it's better to be careful.
However... the guy next to me, an aspiring athlete, half my age, was panting more than me and took longer than me to finish 100 knee strikes on the heavy bag :strong::yes:

Today I tried Full-Body Kettebell Workout which was the last workout I wanted to test.
It's very fast, less than 20 minutes (18 minutes 30 seconds) in the version I did where I maintained 30 seconds of rest between both sets and exercises.
Kettlebell workouts in which there are sets of multiple exercises in a row are decidedly more challenging than versions of classic training with the same exercise done for multiple sets and then moving on to the next exercise.
I really like the feeling of strength that doing a kettlebell workout gives me and I also greatly appreciate the fact that we are very fast (15-20 min), I will continue like this :)

I confirm that my ideal rest is 30 sec, unless the training is really exhausting for me, 30 sec rest is a good compromise between taking a minimum break to keep the pace high and not getting bored waiting to start again :LOL:
Today I opened the Darebee workouts page, selected combat, equipment none and chose the workout that inspired me :)
The small injuries I had in my shoulder were useful in understanding that the training I was doing (I'm talking about the one in the gym with weights) I didn't like very much and it wasn't even good for me.
So it's back to basics: Darebee, with both strength workouts with kettlebells and combat workouts, so I can have fun, vary and rediscover the pleasure of a workout that's good for both my body and my mind :)

I'm officially back, I've fulfilled all my parents' demands and they're making it up every minute, I've lost my record for consecutive days of exercise and I've become aware for the umpteenth time that our way of life is much better :p
Maybe I needed a Hard Reset, so I get the momentum back :)
Battle Maiden Workout with a 20kg kettlebell is a bit too exuberant, 4 exercises in a row without rest with a heavy kettlebell eventually wears you out, on the other hand, I can say that the determination to start again was there :LOL:
However next time I will use the 16kg kettlebell :p
