I have been experiencing issues with my lungs since September. I saw my doctor in November who thought I was just having one cold after another. In February it starting getting worse. Towards the end of March trouble breathing kept me awake at night. Two weeks ago my doctor placed me on one asthma medicine. It did help with sleep. Last week she added a second medicine. Results have been somewhat mixed. When I exercise I have had to modify everything - intensity, reps, sets etc. Rather disheartening.
I am only 8 workouts from completing Hero’s Journey Program, however I’m afraid I will not be completing them. At least not at this time. I have read several articles on “exercising with asthma”. The good news is when my asthma is under control, there is no reason I will not be able to exercise, some running, walking, strength, HIIT, combat, yoga, etc. Just not at the same intensities or durations. There will be a lot of experimenting.
Today has been my best day, (no coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, etc), in a couple of months. So maybe the meds are starting to kick in.
