I'm still pondering whether to maintain at least some strength training with weights but I'm now convinced to switch to favoring combat workouts combined with bodyweight strength training :)

Today I challenged myself: I changed the kicks and did 4 types instead of 1 and added 3 pull-ups at the end of the set.
This way I did everything I was interested in training: kicks and punches, push-ups, pull-ups and hindu squats, the complete package :)
Apart from some pain it went well, we'll see how I am tomorrow, in any case I'm satisfied with my current level of training :strong:

Today I was definitely sore and wooden-legged.
So the ideal to test my theory: mobility and stretching combined with a light workout are better as active recovery than mobility and stretching alone.
I'll let you know tomorrow :LOL:
Last night we played with a new punching bag that just arrived at the gym, similar to the one in the photo, it's so big and heavy that it rests on the ground because it can't hang.

I'm feeling better today but I'm not fully recovered from Thursday's intense leg workout so I'll continue my active recovery by slowly increasing the intensity.
Elbow and knee strikes are much more complex movements than they appear, I had fun mixing up a few Muay Thai combos :)
Since I have time and desire I will continue with generous warmups and stretching in every workout that I can and want.

I increased the burpees to 10 in the Old Guard Workout, if I have to suffer I want to do it well... and decreased the chin-ups to 2 because my shoulders still bother me a bit, overall a really good workout and 5 sets are fine :)

@PetiteSheWolf I still have a bit of a love-hate relationship with the garden, partly because of allergies, partly because the way our garden is set up means you have to do a lot of it by hand and partly because I'm lazy. :P

My maximum duration of a planned and well structured workout is 3 months... then I have to change or I get too bored :P
I have to face the fact that I am a casual training aesthete. :LOL:
