My first Muay Thai fitness class wasn't fun or cozy, but I survived. This year, too, Muay Thai classes will be my fun outing outside my comfort zone. :LOL:
After months I weighed myself again and gained 4 kg... :eyes:
I don't plan on dieting, but I'll have to start weighing myself regularly again and be a little more careful.

I finally know more or less when I'll be able to finalize a deal that's been pending for over a year, obviously it will be at a time of maximum chaos.
More or less my life is: boredom, routine, boredom, routine, full alert, everyone to battle stations, boredom, routine, boredom routine... :LOL:
I'm not complaining. I'm fine with the routine I've built and which I continue to actively optimize and improve, but it's a fact that nothing happens for months and then, in the space of a few days, something happens that hasn't happened in years.
This way I stay young and lively. :P

How many times a week do you train Muay Thai?
I train twice a week, for an hour and a half: Tuesday and Thursday. There's also Wednesday, which is dedicated solely to sparring, but I never go. The 15 minutes of light sparring in regular classes is enough for me. :)
It's not a typical Muay Thai class; there's a half-hour warm-up and various training circuits, 45 minutes of technical training, and the last 15 minutes are for punching bags or light sparring. It's basically a mix of athletic training and Muay Thai, which I find very interesting.
And btw where in Italy are you? (at least in terms of region!)

It's time to take stock.
I've lost 1.5 kg, I need another 3.5 kg to get back to normal, I'm on the right track.
The way I structured my strength training in the gym during the summer (July-August-mid-September) went very well: half an hour of effective training with 10 or more minutes of warm-up at the beginning and stretching at the end is more than enough for my needs.
Supersets are very efficient in managing the number of exercises, effort and training time, it's a scheme that works and that I will continue to maintain.
While keeping the basic exercises as a base (squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and lunges), there's plenty of room to add other exercises and vary them, including push-ups, pull-ups, and other weighted exercises that I can alternate and vary to change up my workout a bit and not always do the same things.
Most of the time the morning after Muay Thai training in the evening I was sore but not in pain, so the training I did maintain a good base and I'm confident that I will be able to adapt it to continue it even if it is as a secondary training after Muay Thai.
Strength training in the gym is useful for my health and also to avoid suffering too much when we do strength circuits in Muay Thai. In the summer when we did them I really suffered since I had completely stopped strength training with weights in the gym.
Then we continue, optimize and refine. :)

I wasn't feeling very fit today, so I did a light workout, especially since I'm going to the gym tomorrow.
Next week I'll be finishing another 7-week training cycle. I had to tweak the last week a bit because it wasn't possible to do 3 days of gym time with Muay Thai training in the evening, so I've cut it down to two and eased it up a bit, but I'll still be finishing another completed cycle on a high note. :)
When planning the next cycle, I left myself plenty of room for maneuver and deliberately kept it simple and quick, as I'm very good at complicating my life later on. :LOL:

Today I've basically finished three-quarters of my strength training at the gym for the week. I had time, the desire, and the energy, so I took advantage of it. So, whatever happens in the next few workouts, I'll still successfully complete this training cycle. I only have one more workout to go on Friday. :)

I will keep the 10-minute extended warm-up every day because it is a great base for mobility and is good for me, and I will add a 5-minute kettlebell warm-up, with a light 8kg kettlebell, to also add some strength and mobility with weights every day.
The goal is to get to using the 12kg kettlebell in some time so as to have a 5 minute mini strength workout every day. :)

Last night's Muay Thai training went well and I was just a little sore today, so I indulged in a nice, hard workout at home. :)
I'll keep Wednesday as my deload day; it's too close to the previous evening's hard workout to go to the gym in the morning, and it allows me to recover better. I'll do the same with Saturday and Sunday; depending on how I'm feeling, I'll do what I feel like doing.

I successfully completed the last workout of the last 7-week cycle of summer training. :yas:
I had to modify the final workouts a bit due to commitments and other training, but I'm satisfied with the result I achieved. I was very consistent in training all summer. :peace:
In the next 3 weeks I will just start the initial training of the next cycle and maybe I will do some experiments to optimize and maximize it, but nothing more because I will have commitments, annoyances and certainly unforeseen events that will take up my time and mind. :P

So, if I understand correctly, you are exercising with pain, ignoring and suppressing it?
It's more of a nuisance than a pain. I always stop before it becomes painful, and warming up and doing mobility exercises allows me to prepare for the exercises better. I can't push myself too hard, but I'm not taking any risks either.
The exercises I'm doing have helped me go from pain to discomfort, and the idea is to continue to strengthen my joints and get better.
I'll always have weaknesses, but they won't be debilitating, just things to watch out for.

No training today because I had to run errands.
It's always amazing to see bureaucracy at work.
They installed a ticket machine at the town registry office to organize and improve line management and reduce staffing. Three employees were manning the machine; no one was allowed to touch it alone... :LOL:
I was lucky: I didn't have time to sit down in the crowded waiting room and it was my turn right away. :)

Today I really didn't feel like going to the gym or doing a kettlebell strength training session at home, so I did a combat workout, which cheered me up a bit.
The next two weeks are going to be a frenzy of stress, so I have to be very gentle with myself about everything that isn't essential.
Yesterday I read an interesting article about aging and how the loss of power (strength + speed) creates problems with balance and overall well-being.
I train at a good pace but never push myself to the max. Today, to see how it goes, I alternated a slow set, focusing on form, with one at maximum speed.
I have to say it was interesting, and it deserves further study.

Another lazy day but at least I caught up on the challenge and did the cleaning. :)
From tomorrow I should be able to train normally until Friday, then next week I'll be traveling.
Not that I had any doubts but I'm always a bit amazed by how the mind always gives up before the body but it also makes sense, if the mind is stressed it can't handle even a demanding workout, luckily I always have very simple and no brain alternatives.

I had a good strength training session at the gym today and it will be my last one this week. :LOL:
I noticed the car's windshield wipers needed replacing, and I seriously considered for almost 30 seconds whether to replace them myself, then I picked up the phone and called the mechanic. I drove the car over, and he did everything in two minutes, and I spent basically the same as buying the wipers online.
Modern societies, after all, are based on the division of labor. :)
