Last night's chat at the Darebee meet got me thinking about a few things.
First I need to improve my understanding of spoken English :P
I have no problem reading any text but I have much more difficulty with speaking.
The other thing that got me thinking was a point made by @neilarey about how the training proposed by Darebee allows you to take control instead of giving it to someone else.
That's what I loved from the first moment of Darebee, being able to decide how, when, why and mess around until you combine something good. Learning from your own body and with your own body, body and mind together.
I'm not a fitness expert but I've always trained and I really like to decide for myself what to do and how.
So for a while I'll be messing around with my own training (besides Muay Thai) :)

I managed not to cheat, I used all the Hall Passes but I respected the program finishing Fit December on December 31st :)
I decided to start the year following the lunar calendar, so today I dusted off the program that I really liked:
The Quick and the Dead: Total Training for the Advanced Minimalist by Pavel Tsatsouline
and I have officially started my strength conditioning :)
I still have to think about the rest :LOL:

I already feel more in control of my body, with plenty of room for improvement :)
I will continue to keep the training very simple and easy though, I plan 3 months with this type of basic training with various additions as desired, so I have plenty of time to improve.

Last night's Muay Thai training went well, the first half hour without respite was tough but then the class slowed down considerably.
It's nice to be able to chat again before, during and after training, it's good for my social life which has been reduced to the bone :)

I like that quote. Whenever my friend and I encounter a particularly stressful project or one that goes very much awry, we call it educational. "How's the project going? Did you work it out or is it being educational?" "This garment turned out very F-ing educational!" :chuckle:

Feels much better than calling something a failure, and you're more likely to keep trying to fix/change course it than just give up :)
 
Failure is not a mistake but an essential part of the learning process, without failure there is no progress :)
If you get it right the first time it's because you already knew how to do it, you haven't learned anything :P

Another hectic day but I finally managed to train :)
I gave my wife some non-slip yoga socks with individual toes to keep her feet warm but they didn't fit her toes... today I tried them on and they fit perfectly.
