BATTLEGROUND 2025

BATTLEGROUND: THE CAKE WAR RETURNS!

The battle drums sound once more. The warriors gather. The war is upon us! But this is no ordinary war - this is serious business, we battle for CAKE.

On one side, the Light fights for the glorious, heavenly Vanilla (Angel) Cake - pure, radiant, and just a little bit too sweet. On the other, the Dark rises in the name of rich, decadent Chocolate Cake - bold, intense, and possibly a bit too OP.

The rules are simple: Fight for your cake. Punch, kick, strike, elbow, knee—whatever it takes to prove your side’s might! Every move you make earns points for your faction. One rep = one point.

For three days, the war rages on. Allies may turn, spies may switch sides, but in the end, only one cake shall claim victory. And yet, deep down, we all know the truth: it doesn’t matter which side wins, because in the end, we all get cake. Victory is sweet. But participation is even sweeter. Every warrior who steps onto the battlefield earns a special Battleground Badge - a mark of honor for those who dared to fight for their dessert!

So, warriors of DAREBEE - choose your side, ready your strikes, and let’s make this the most legendary cake war yet!

THE BATTLE BEGINS MARCH 22ND.

⚔️ How It Works

  1. Pick Your Side: Light or Dark (update your profile or declare it below).
  2. FIGHT. Perform any combat move: punches, kicks, elbow strikes, knee strikes, backfists, etc.
  3. Earn Points: 1 rep = 1 point for your chosen side.
  4. Submit Your Score: Post your reps below and state which side you are contributing points to.
  5. Track the Battle: Moderators update the real-time leaderboard every hour on the forum & a public Spreadsheet.
  6. Win Together: After 3 days, the side with the most points wins the war!
  7. Claim Your Badge: Everyone who participates can claim a special Battleground Badge in their user profile.

Rules & Guidelines

  • ANY combat move counts – punches, kicks, elbow strikes, knee strikes, backfists, shadowboxing, bag work, etc.
  • 1 rep = 1 point. No max limit—every strike matters!
  • You can switch sides during the event, but past points stay where they were.
  • Post your points in the event thread with your total and your chosen side (e.g., "Today: 500 points for the Light!").
  • Leaderboard updates happen every hour – check the forum thread for current standings.
  • The event lasts 3 days – final scores will be posted once the battle ends.

Rules say every strike counts. So, for example, when you do a backfist followed by a turning kick, that's 2 points.
(This is my interpretation, at least.)

The problem is that it says 1 rep = 1 point, but then it says every strike counts, but it says that 1 rep = 1 point twice, so now I'm more confused.

I'm still hitting though. I'll report later. I'm doing One Kick (Side Kick) and Counter Strike for reference:

I counted in One Kick 110 points per set, and in Counter Strike 180 points per set. If every strike counts as one point.

If you do a side kick, then a bounce, then a side kick on the other leg, and repeat that ten times, that's ten side kicks with your left leg and ten side kicks with your right leg, for a total of twenty "reps" of kicking. Don't worry about the rep count on the workout poster being different. The number on the poster counts combos, not individual strikes.

Thank your for the clarification.

100 side kicks
100 punches (jab & cross)
100 front kicks
100 elbow strikes
100 turning kicks
100 speed bag punches
100 outward knife hand strikes
100 knee strikes
100 knife hand strikes
100 squat hold punches

= 1000 points for glorious chocolate!

I believe if you do it like a strike it can count. So a little bit of force behind it like you're going to hit someone should do. It's just a variation on a knee strike.

Appreciate the response!

And 600 more points for the light. ^_^

Hi @neilarey
Today is my break (in my training plan: Gladiator), but not in my 2-year challenge, which I want to complete by combining both: challenges and workouts (complying with the breaks, in the second point).

I'll start with the Light side. They've taken away sugar; however, in the more than 366 days I've been training nonstop (at a cost to me due to high CK), it's better to regret (for the better) what you do to stay healthy and lose weight than to do no exercise at all and eat poorly.

I'm heading towards 500 days.
After April, I'll go for May.

See you at the end of March. Happy spring, hive!
