Hey, I ordered some pleks for the bass yesterday to try it out and was wondering if you play fingerstyle, with pleks, or both? Never used pleks myself, have you practised with them already?
The book I follow for bass teaches fingerstyle, and I love it cause it makes a difference between playing the guitar and playing the bass.
For Punkrock songs I use a plek. It is easier to play fast and sounds better.

Thanks for answering. I currently only play fingerstyle and used to snuff at pleks, but I got curious. Do you prefer them on the heavy or the lighter side? I ordered 3.0mm pleks and am eager to try them out. I have everything from 0.38mm to 2.0mm, but so far haven't tried them. I want to use the super heavy ones first. I know it's prefence, but I'm interested and I don't know any other bass-playing people :eyes:

I already used a

Dunlop Tortex Standard .88

just because it was the only one "around".

It did its job... nothing more, nothing less. It had a decent feedback and a good "attack".

I have at least one day of back pain per week for 4 weeks now, which means no
activities until I had my MRT on tuesday, to exclude "hardware aka bone/spine" issues. I already booked a follow up appointment at my orthopaedic doc.

It is still not clear if a certain activity triggers the pain, or if it is an overuse problem.
